After booking at St. Vincent's Guesthouse I read some very negative reviews of the place and thought that I'd made a big mistake! But staying there was fine. It's in a great location, in a neighborhood with lots of character, and only about a 20-minute walk along Magazine Street to Downtown New Orleans. I stayed at St. Vincents while attending a conference at the Marriott in town (my seven nights at St. Vincents would have bought me only two nights at the Marriott). But be realistic: you get what you pay for, so don't expect Marriott standards. Regarding that though, a mouse ran across the floor in the Marriott conference room we were in, but I didn't see any mice while I was at St.Vincents! Overall, I'd highly recommend it.
