This is a Trusted Review. Why?
On a hill (like lots of the city) only 2 blocks from cable car, fairly decent bars & restaurants. One very good pasta place is Uncle Vito's on Bush & Powell. Place is a bit run down and breakfast is limited to pancakes and hot drinks
The Amsterdam Hotel was fully booked so they transferred us into their sister hotel. We were a bit concerned as we hadn't seen any pictures but it turned out great. We stayed in the Mithila Hotel only a few minutes walk away which had a fridge, microwave and TV. Great value for money. The location was good for the city center although be prepared as the area felt very run down and unsafe.
This is a Trusted Review. Why?
This hostel was somewhat mediocre, with some surprise benefits and disadvantages. The en suite bathrooms were nice and the location is excellent. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the place was definitely cleaned well. On the negative side, lighting was poor and the beds were very old and without ladders to the top bunk! The breakfast was insubstantial. Overall, I was content with my stay there.
