Latest Review for Globetrotters Inn

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Its in a very dodgy part of the city, dont turn left when exiting the hostel unless you want to get killed, other than that the staff were helpful and the place is clean, there is only 2 showers one of which is through a kitchen, and the toilets dont have sinks in them. You get what you pay for basically.

There is not much of an atmosphere in the hostel as a whole as everyone seems to keep to themselves, although the lads we were sharing the room with were great crack.

Shuttles are available from the airport to the hostel. A cheaper alternative is to take the BART train (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from the airport. It takes 35 minutes and costs $5.35. BART trains leave the airport about every 15 minutes. For schedules, check www.bart.gov . Get off at the Powell St. station, which is downtown. It is the station after the Civic Center station and before the Montgomery St. station. You will come up the stairs to the street level from underground. Turn left (west) on Ellis St. Go along Ellis St. one block, and then cross Mason St. After crossing Mason St., you will immediately reach a Thai restaurant on the corner called Old Siam, which has a green, illuminated storefront. Just after Old Siam, there is a door with a white sign that says, 'HOSTEL.' The address is 225 Ellis St. and the door says 225. Press the buzzer by the door and we will unlock it. Please let us know in advance if you will be arriving after 11:00 P.M. (23:00).
