We stayed three nights at Mayflower and was very satisfied with location, service and price! The breakfast was good! They also offerd about 20 parking lots, but for compact cars only. We were overall satisfied with our stay to this charming old hotel in the midst of San Francisco!

We found the Mayflower Hotel charming. It certainly has an old world atmosphere and with that goes old world hospitality. The rooms were quite spacious, well equipped and clean and seem to have been recently painted. The murals on the walls are interesting, adding to the charm. I noticed in some of the hotels we stayed in (including the Mayflower) there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This is something we expect in Australia.
We had extra luggage to pack for going home and the hotel was able to supply us with luggage-weighing scales which was really appreciated.
I would definitely stay there again and will recommend the hotel to friends.

The room and the bed were comfortable enough for the one night I stayed. The decor is still 1920s including the bathroom but the plumbing was up to date. The shower is over the bath rather than a separate unit. The original lifts are an interesting feature but awkward to use. Breakfast was very basic to say the least and I managed to squeeze the last cup of coffee out of the urn. Nobody rushed in to fill it up so others that followed missed out. Front desk service was very helpful and friendly especially to a first time visitor to San Francisco.
