Budget Accommodation North America USA San Francisco Budget Hotels North Beach Hotel
I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights.
It appears to be in a bad area although i didn't actually run into any trouble whilst being there.
Decent location - close to the piers and fisherman's wharf.
The rooms are small but not that small that you would complain about it.

The shower and toilet are singles so you do get a fair bit of privacy.
The front desk requires a $30 deposit on arrival which i wasn't aware of. It wasn't a problem but i feel it should be advertised a little clearer.
In the conditions to stay there it states you arnt allowed to watch the TV in the room (i assume they meant after a certain hour) but i heard TV's going all night which were really loud.
Im young so i don't care but if you're looking to get a decent night sleep you might have a problem with it.
$60+ cab ride from the airport.
Overall it was fine accommodation and really cheap but i probably wouldn't have stayed there longer than 2 nights.

Great location, next to chinatown, close to Coit tower (great neighbourhood) and Washington park. All main spots (incl Union Sq, Wisherman's wharf) are on a doable walking distance.
Rooms are small, but big enough to sleep in. Comfortable bed, nice small TV. Bathrooms on hall way are clean.
Overall very satisfied and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Excellent location and very reasonable price really. There is not much in the way of facilities, and the nearest shower room wasn't working while I was there - it wasn't a major problem as there was another on the floor. You get quite a bit of noise around the rooms with creaky floorboards from above and people walking about all times of night, but I didn't find it too bad. Rooms are small but clean enough. Pretty much what you'd expect for the price, if not a little better. If you're on a budget and want to be at the centre of things I'd highly recommend this place.

The hotel is in a great location to get to chinatown for cheap eats, souvenirs, and to experience bustling markets. Also for getting to many other attractions San Fran has to offer. Staff were generally very helpful and the room was clean, well organised and equipped. We had a double room on the street side so was pretty noisy.

Having a refridgerator & microwave in our room was a definite plus.
Shared bathrooms were kept very clean.
Location was great.

Tiny room and not the cleanest. Bathrooms were very clean and were constantly being cleaned as well, hence the smell of bleach wafting around the halls! Excellent location and very cheap so can't complain that much. I would stay there again

A good budget hotel. Good location and friendly staff - happy to sort out shuttle bookings, luggage lock up etc
Not that much in the way of amenities, but there was a wash basin in my room which was useful.
Good local Italian & Chinese restaurants.
The name has changed from St Paul to North Beach Hotel, so the internet advertising needs to be changed.
I'd probably try somewhere else if I was coming back to San Fransisco, but wold be happy to stay here again.
