Probably the worst thing is the façade of the building that makes horrible impression of inhospitality and dirt. Staff is friendly and helpful.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE:
STAY ON THIS "TRASH" IS LIKE BEING IN A NIGHTMARE.
WHEN I ARRIVE ON THE DESIGNED ROOM, I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO BE IN MY LIFE!!!
IMMEDIATELY, I SEEK FOR ANOTHER NEARBY HOTEL TO STAY... NO VACANCIES, OH MY GOD!!!
THE BREAKFAST (INCLUDED IN MY RATE) SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED A BREAKFAST, HAVE A BOARD FOR YOU LIKE IT: GET ONLY TWO SLICES OF BREAD AND ONE CUP OF COFFEE AND NOTHING MORE.
THERE WAS NOTHING TO EAT FOR EVEN MORE...
IT'S IN RUINS, THE FLOOR AND ELEVATOR IT SEEMS THAT WILL FALL AT ANY TIME.
IT WAS THE WORST "HOTEL"(?!?) THAT WAS IN ALL MY LIFE!!!
IF YOU HAVE A RESERVATION, CANCEL, SEARCH FOR "A HOTEL", NOT A TRASH CAN.
AT THE CHECKOUT, WANTED CHARGE ME AGAIN. (?!?!?!)
PLEASE, FLEE OF THIS PLACE.

There are two positive things to be said about this "hotel": It is located close to everything of interest in the city and the people who work there are very nice and helpful. Thank you again for the refund, Paloma!
Apart from that, it is definitely the worst accommodation I ever stayed in, mainly because it is dirty. My suggestion would be to save the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner (!) and soap that are put on the washing basin every day and instead, to actually clean the basin. And doorknobs. And windowframes. And bathroom floors. A bit of fresh air every now and again would do a great deal of good, too. I also wonder on which continent people would have what the Allen Lee calls a "continental breakfast": toast, cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly and honey, all arranged in the lobby to help yourself, but within limits: A note on the walls requires people not to take too much at breakfast so there will be enough left for the other guests. There are coffee and tea, too, everything to be consumed from plastic, cardboard and styrofoam cutlery.
This place could be a goldmine, because its location is perfect. However, I guess the building would have to be knocked down and re-built first - on the continent where I live, Europe, it would have been closed down long ago for reasons of safety and hygiene.

It was fine place, owner was friendly and served a decent breakfast. Excellent location; literally steps away from the white house and the lincoln memorial and smack in the middle of GWU. Recommend if you want minimal hassle and maximum play.

From the outside the building looked as if it would need painting.
The radiator inside the room was rattling. We had to turn it off.

It is a little misleading if you book through the travellerspoint website. First, be aware that the price you are paying for a deposit isn't actually a deposit. Travellerspoint actually boosts the price of the actual room so that your "deposit" is actually their service fee. Second, it says they serve breakfast. They serve coffee and toast and bananas. Don't be expecting bagels or eggs or any sort of buffet or fruit like you'd get in other hotels. The rooms are small, but the beds are very comfortable. My suggestion: save yourself some money and just contact the hotel yourself. You will save substantially by avoiding Travellerspoint. It is false marketing to say that the price of the room is one thing and that the "deposit" is a deposit when actually, it is a service fee.
