This is a Trusted Review. Why?

I booked at Blue Sky for the first three days of my Vietnam visit. I stayed for six nights largely because of the staff. They were helpful, friendly and showed a genuine interest in the vistors they were hosting. I was encouraged to engage in the culture of Vietnam, given advice on places to visit, directions to get there and the times places were open (eg Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is only open for a couple of hours a day and I think only five days of the week). They also advised on what I should pay for motorbkie taxis and where to be careful of sharks. I was invited to have lunch with the staff on two occassions ( the second time being after I had booked out of the hotel). The room was well furnished including the bathroom. It was serviced daily. The hotel is clean. I've stayed in many hotels around the world and rate this as having the friendliest staff of all the hotels I've stayed at. Certainly not the biggest but that is it's charm.
Staff organised an overnight boat trip to Ha Long Bay, booked my bus to Hue and an air ticked to Ho Chi Minh City. I organised my own hotel in Hue but messed the booking up. Staff sorted it within five minutes. I'll be back!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

This is a great place to stay! Wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up staying longer because I became comfy at the Blue Sky. The staff is mostly very friendly and helpful, the in-house food is good (important on a rainy day), and the rooms are a good value at around 15 bucks -- I would go for the double-bed rooms, though, as the twins are too small for an adult male. It may not be the the absolute best value in town, but when you find a friendly, clean, and problem-free spot for that price in Old Quarter, count your blessings! Thanks Blue Sky for a nice visit.
