LOWEST PRICE ACCOMMODATION IN NIAGARA FALLS AND BEST RATED. Our hostel is also the best located hostel and accommodation to the magnificent waterfalls and the entertainment district.
Everything in our building is newly renovated and redesigned for 2013! Great value! Great location! We want to impress you with the value we provide.
We are a true hostel. Not a motel. Don't be fooled by the motels. Our prices include everything, even our famous breakfast. No membership fees, surprise taxes or cleaning fees.
Our hostel won the 2009 hoscar, the Hostelworld award for the number 1 rated hostel in North America and Canada for 2009! Number 2 in 2010 and number 3 in 2011. Come and find out why our guests think we are the best.
This year we have totally renovated the interior of our building, including all private rooms, dorms, kitchens and bathrooms.
Lowest price overall in Niagara too, no crazy membership charges or surprise fees and all the taxes are included in our prices.
We now have female only dorms in our newly renovated apartments, especially designed for female travellers.
We have specially designed family rooms and group apartments available. Our very spacious and roomy dorms have specially designed beds that were custom built to comfortably accommodate adults and backpacks/luggage. The mattresses are for adults. (our bunks are not department store bunk beds with thin mattresses designed for children and sleep overs, lol).
Our private rooms have all been redesigned for 2013 with brand new hard wood floors, custom tile entrances, queen sized beds, closets, superior bedding, media centres, desks, windows, individual heaters, and ceiling fans. These are amazing, check them out for a few nights, you will not be disappointed. Not your typical hostel private room located in a converted broom closet, lol.
Best location! Just a true, very safe, 5-7 minute walk to the falls! Check out Google maps and see just how close we are to the falls compared to other accommodation options. (including those in the USA) No long, dark, night-time walks back to the hostel after the you visit the falls and nearby vibrant pub/restaurant district. Save on taxi fares!
Absolutely, no hidden fees, no membership requirements or charges. None. Just pay for the sleep. Everything else we offer is free!

In fact, there is a cycling/walking path along the entire river. Let us show you how easy it is to discover the true Niagara, not the tour bus, tourist trap version.
Our hostel is located in a quiet, very safe/secure area that is only 5-7 minutes from the waterfalls and the fun night-time entertainment districts. No long dark night-time walks back to the hostel after visiting the falls the or the vibrant club, pub and restaurant/entertainment district.

Working holiday visa (whv, pvt) and jobseekers: Niagara has many great opportunities for seasonal jobs with the many tourist based businesses here. (great tips!) Restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars, hotels, casinos and even farm work is available in the area too. Over the years we have had many travelers find fantastic work in the area.
We also offer work for accommodations year round. Many different roles are available. Come help us get even better! (it's karma) bring a couple friends and come down and get some Canadian work references while saving money and enjoying the year round activities of the Niagara region.
Very convenient and sooo cheap access from USA/Buffalo too. The Buffalo airport is a local, city bus ride away from our hostel for only $4.00!!!
...and we all shine on...
Avoid this place, its the worst hostel i've ever been to. the check-in was strange, we were tired from the travel and wanted to go to our room, but instead we got a one hour lecture from the dogmatic owner.
he told us that we are crazy, because we were only staying for one night. actually we were very lucky about that fact, because we had to share our bed with lots of blood thirsty bedbugs.
so we couldnt sleep at all, because they bit us all over our bodys. if you like bedbugs its the right place for you.
itself the hostel was nice and clean. the breakfast was nothing special.
I'd rather spend the night at the beautiful niagara falls than in this hostel.
I am a bit surprised by such high ratings of this hostel. Hostel is ok, but if you see such incredibly high ratings you really expect something spectacular.
Facts are like below:
- very young and very friendly staff who do their best to serve people as good as possible
- building needs BIG renovation!!!!!!!!!!!! on the highest floor is standing a bucket for the water dropping from the ceiling!!!
- rooms in general clean, but because of the condition of the builing, the overal impression of cleaniness is worse
- breakfast is minimal; if you are a little skinny girl maybe you will be satisfied
- location- quite good! not so far from niagara falls
- climate - i missed climate of other hostels, where you meet real travellers, which is thrilling.
to sum up- the place is ok, but ratings around 90-100% are exaggerated. I chose this hostel, because of these ratings, and was very disappointed seing a builing screaming for renovation.
Ok so the location is convenient and fairly close to the main areas, the owner is informative, the volunteers are nice and the muffins are good, etc. The value is average for a hostel and the place is kept neat and clean. EXCEPT....for the fact it's infested with bed bugs. I'm from NY so I know the pain and hell it took to clean up my stuff and suffer the bites, but I my worse fear came true when I got infested from this place from just one night! I talked to this girl who did not know what her bites were and she was covered on her arms so it was a sign for me to run the hell out..but I was so tired after a 12 hour bus ride I asked for a new room. Forgot the fact the owner treats the rooms with some custom made heat machine to kill them bc it's infested in the entire building and they only treat a few rooms at a time. They keep coming back of course from traveller's such as yourselves so it's a hard thing to manage, but here are ways they can prevent it.
- Treat the whole stinking building not just the rooms
- Toss all the ratty old mattresses with holes in them as they are the best breeding grounds.
- Replace the old wooden bunk bed frames with metal frames
- Replace the mattresses with new plastic foam type mattresses.
- Be honest and give credit and free room to those who were bit! So many people think it's just spiders or ants. The bites itch like a hell and last for weeks with scarring if you scratch.
I wrap myself up like a burrito when i sleep due to mosquitos so i didn't get bit that night, but i saw a huge adult on my sheet in the morning and freaked out so killed it. little did i know they infested my bags and i brought them to my friend's nice apartment in toronto and spent endless days washing and cleaning their place and my stuff. I was bit all over my neck and hands and feet. I looked like I had the measles and people stared at me on the streets. Ugh!
For those of you who don't know what bedbugs are do your research! you can get it any hotel/motel too so it's always a risk, but this place for sure has them so just want to warn you.
You can buy a travel size bed bug spray at your local hardware store, but you need to do more than just plastic bags to keep them away. they hide in your shoes, outer suitcase, etc.
Be smart and ask what type of mattress the hostel uses.
Sorry ACBB, you were cool as people, but your facility cost me way more in time, fear, suffering and money for cleaning costs in the end. Since the owner is a businessman, he needs to know that you have to invest money into improvements to have more client satisfaction and success.
The host loves to talk -- and talk and talk and talk. He also likes to control your travels -- I heard him harangue one woman for 20-30 min because she wasn't interested in an attraction he recommended. (And during this time there were a number of people waiting to check out, ask for directions, etc.) Instead of permitting travellers to post notices and organize their own excursions, he insists on pushing his preferred tours.
All this could be forgiven if there were decent facilities (kitchen, laundry, etc) and if the place was reasonably clean. If you stay here, bring plastic bags to seal your bags in so you don't bring little travellers home with you -- by the time I left I was covered in bites.

I had a great time! It only takes about five minutes or so to get to the falls.
Clifton Hill is ridiculous, but hiking down to the river is great! That looks more how I imagined Niagara Falls. Maid of the Mist was really cool, too! The hostel is great. The people are very nice, the beds comfortable, the showers have water pressure. And it's clean. Would definitely come back here.
I have just returned from a planned stay at this Hostel and I can honestly say that my stay could not have gone worse. My group of two guys and two girls went to Niagara with the intention of seeing the famous landmarks and enjoying a social night out in the nearby nightclubs.
We arrived in the late afternoon with a fully planned schedule of what we wished to see and do, upon our arrival we were greeted by Patrick, the hostel owner who kept us in unnecessary conversation for over an hour which meant that we did not have sufficient time to fulfill all our plans. In addition, our party was put into a room with one other guest who was due to depart at 3 am in the morning, which we felt was quite inconsiderate to us.
We returned to the Hostel around 8pm for showers and some food. The showers were extreme, either extremely hot or ice cold and could of done with a good scrub. We had planned to have a few social drinks in our bedroom before we went out to the local nightclubs, but felt that to do so would be rude towards the other lone guest. Instead we decided to have our couple of beers in the kitchen. We made sure that Patrick the owner was ok with this and he even told us where would be the best place to buy drink and go out.
Later that evening at around midnight Shelly and Patrick both came up screaming at us to leave the hostel. They were cursing at us and acted extremely aggressively, threatening the boys. Neither of the owners had asked us to keep quite or to stop consuming alcohol on the premises before they came up demanding that we leave immediately. We can only assume that these are the reasons that we got kicked out as no reasons were given to us. We pleaded with the owners not to through us out as we did not know the area well and had absolutely no where else to stay at such a late hour. We apologised over and over again and assured them that we would go straight to bed and not utter another word, but to no avail.
As we tried to hastily gather our belongings in our shocked and emotional states we were threatened with violence and were verbally attacked. Patrick even went as far to call the cops on us, accusing us of refusing to leave the premises, when we infact were being fully compliant and were merely trying to gather our things. As we felt that we were being grossly mistreated we asked if we could get a refund as we had not stayed the night in his hostel. Patrick then threatened one of the male members of the group to "kick his ass", at this point we were so stressed from the affair that we fled the hostel leaving much of our belongings behind us. Once we left the hostel we were told "run away if we know whats good for us". We begged Patrick for a refund as we had very little money and no where else to stay and violently and reluctantly threw it at us.
Luckily we found other accomodation at the Days Inn Hotel just down the street, however we did have to pay over the odds for somewhere to stay at such short notice.
All in all, all members of our party feel that the actions of Patrick ruined our stay and experience of Niagara Falls. I would not recommend this hostel to anybody under any circumstances and I would even go as far as to say that ACBB Hostel should be investigated by authorities due to malpractices and threats of violence. I can honestly say that I do not know how every other review of this hostel has been of praise. From further investigation I have uncovered some reviews which are similar to mine and also outline extreme behaviour from the owners. I urge all travelers to avoid this hostel at all costs.

We arrived just on dark to find this hostel almost deserted with no obvious reception area. We got bad vibes just about from the start. We called out and eventually a man came; he had no knowledge of our booking, seemed quite ‘out of it’ and quite unkempt. Once we showed him our booking, he agreed to show us a room.
The room was okay very basic, but clean enough. However, due to the atmosphere, deserted nature of the place, the assistant’s appearance and the flimsy doors and locks, we did not feel comfortable / safe in staying. When we expressed this to the assistant he immediately got on the phone to the owner, who insisted on talking with us and aggressively demanded to know what the problem was. He informed us that as they had a 24 hour cancellation policy, they would have to charge our credit card the full amount. We had no argument with that. We reluctantly agreed to stay. However, once we did so, the assistant immediately told us that the only terms of payment were cash – these are not the terms specified on standard confirmation of booking form they sent us.
We put our bags in the room and headed out straight away for a few hours as the hostel was not the kind of place we wanted to spend any time in. Once we were out in the township and saw comparative prices of accommodation we realized that ours was grossly overpriced. We found alternative accommodation for the same price that was much more comfortable, secure and the attitude of the staff, totally professional and welcoming.
On return to the hostel we told the assistant that we would not be staying the night. He immediately demanded full payment in cash. We replied that he had our credit card details and could charge that the full cost for the night. At that point he became aggressive, demanding the money and phoning his boss at the same time. He became quite threatening, told us to “get out of the hostel” and to “get out of Canada” and proceeded to follow us out onto the road, continuing to threaten us at which point we felt our safety was in jeopardy. We drove away as fast as we could and were quite shaken by the experience. We have reviewed other reviews of this hostel and it is hard to believe it is the same place, staff and owner – perhaps there has been a change in ownership? WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT OTHER TRAVELLERS STAY THERE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN.

really great stay, patrick the owner was very helpful with his tips and advice about the places to go and visit.
The breakfast is a great addition and the muffins were amazing!

Not only is the owner a genuinely lovely man, he also put on the best breakfast spreads I saw on my travels. His home baked blueberry muffins are to die for. Plus, if you have a problem or you want advice he is more than happy to help you out. He even has a recipe to help sunburn - and believe me it works! The hostel itself is lierally 2mins from the main street where all the action is, plus the baclonies are a great way to chill out after a long day getting drenched by the Falls.

Perfect Place to stay while you are visiting the Niagara Falls. Very nice service, home-like atmosphere and wonderful morning surprise with handmade muffins. Highly recommended.
