I order a single room there. It is quite clean. I like walking and it took me 20 mins from cardiff central station to here by the help of maps in iphone. The service there is quiet good.

WORST STAY EVER!!

We have stayed at a number of hostels, some above bars and some for a third of the price, but none have been as bad as our stay at Nomad!
Don't be fooled by the 24 hour reception or the signs saying "Nomad is primarily a place to sleep" as sleeping is something we did very little of there. The noise of doors slamming and drunk people stomping around and actually yelling at each other kept us awake until after 4am (in fact we didn't get to sleep until daylight, then the noise started again at 7am...).
On top of that, the shower had no hot water when we tried it during the evening, and there was only one toilet and toilet/shower combo to share between our entire floor - male and female. During the night my girlfriend was unable to use the toilet/bathroom for the group of drunk guys hanging around outside it harassing people.
The location is okay - about a 10-15 minute walk into the main town centre, however the road it is down isn't very nice - all the houses with rubbish and stuff outside.
All in all - for the price, 34 pounds a night for a double room, you're better off getting a deal at Travelodge or the like.
We paid for two nights accomodation at Nomad, but left after the first night, despite management not giving us a refund for the second night as they "weren't in a position to".
The only good thing about Nomad was the free wi-fi, which we used to book accomodation for our second night!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

This hostel was in a fairly good location, just a short walk from Cardiff city centre (though we were greeted with a blank expression when we asked for a map of the city). The bed linen in our room was a nasty brown colour, possibly to distract from the fact that it hadn't been changed before we got there (pubes on the sheet). Also, the beds were horribly uncomfortable. The kitchen was adequately equipped but the breakfast was awful. Even though it was free and our funds were limited, we ended up going into town for breakfast as couldn't face eating it there. The shared bathrooms were vile - the floors were drenched and filthy and the shower was dirty and didn't smell good at all. The bathroom window didn't close so there were some issues with privacy, especially as said window was directly above the toilet and looking on to the street. Leave your modesty at home! Overall, I think that this hostel was greatly over-priced for what we received. If it had been cheaper I might not have been so annoyed about the things I've mentioned. It could have been worse but I think it would be worth shopping around a bit before booking here. I've stayed in loads of hostels in different countries and this is one that I wouldn't go back to.
