Budget Accommodation > South America > Argentina > Salta > Bed & Breakfasts > Poncho Huasi
This is a Trusted Review. Why?
Extremely welcoming and helpful (english speaking) hosts. Would consider their guided tours which would be much better than group tours and would be worth extra $. It is out of town but great as a base for seeing the countryside.

Poncho Huasi is run by an Englishman and his Argentine wife who have been living in the UK for the last seven years and know exactly what you want from a holiday.
Last year, Alicia returned home to Salta to live permanently, bringing her husband Nick: and they welcome you into their traditional colonial home.
This is what Nick and Alicia have to say about their B&B:
What we offer is a personal service from beginning to end: we'll meet you at the airport or pick you up from the bus station and bring you to Poncho Huasi where you'll soon forget the stresses of modern life amidst the tranquil surroundings of our old colonial house.
We are in the sleepy town of Cerrillos 15 km from Salta city, in the heart of the tobacco region.
We're on the Wine Route towards Cafayate and ideally situated to explore the stunning variety of scenery and activities the North West has to offer; the Calchaquies valleys to the south, the Quebrada de Humahuaca to the north, and San Antonio de los Cobres and the Puna to the west.
If it's adventure you're after, there's rafting, trekking and horseriding; jungle, desert and puna expeditions in 4x4 vehicles. The Wild North West has it all! Just let us know what you want and we'll arrange it.
When you're not out exploring, you can laze by our pool during the day, and find yourself a quiet corner in our large living room, with a log fire for those occasional cold winter evenings.
We also know the best places to eat, drink and listen to traditional music; and where to sample Salta's inexhaustible nightlife.
When you're here you'll feel like you're staying in a traditional family home rather than an impersonal hotel.

We live 15km south of Salta in the small town of Cerrillos, the heart of the province's tobacco region, and the gateway to the outstanding scenery of the Valles Calchaquies, and the wine producing district of Cafayate.
