About Arknoa Houseboat
Houseboat Arknoa with central heating, hot running water and view on broad and active canal, offers one large private studio-room, the Elephant room, with 1 double bed (2p.) & 1 couch bed (1p.), for 2 or 3 guests.
(eventually 4g.) Linen and towels provided.
For 2 persons, the price is e 40 or 45.-pppn.
For 3 persons, the price is e 35 or 40.- pppn.
Excl.5% tourist tax and key-deposit.
(Prices depend on season).

The Elephant Studio:
has a private entrance, 2 large windows, a king size bed and table, a couch-bed, T & coffee-making facilities in the room; a radio, a fridge, Wifi, also a narrow terrace on the canal side where a rowing boat is parked in front of your windows in which you can safely enjoy the feel of the water ...
The room faces the afternoon sun, the canal and 8 grand beautiful trees on the other side of the canal.
It is comfortable, attractive, spacey, and smoker friendly;
Also it is close to the supermarket, the Jordaan district & the streetmarkets there on Saturdays and Mondays. And very close to the Westerpark...
The Elephant room is situated at the far end of the houseboat with shared bathroom/shower just down the hall next to the inn keeper's living quarters.
You can book the Elephant room for 3 persons as a :
THREE BED PRIVATE. (3 guests in one room) or for 2 persons as a PRIVATE DOUBLE.

When 2 adults wish 2 separate beds, please inform the innkeeper upfront.

CHECK-IN is after 16oo. You can deposit bags if arriving early. Please then mail-in to make sure inn keeper is home.
CHECK-OUT is 11am.
(For e10.- you can park your bags at the houseboat for the afternoon, if convenient with innkeeper that day).
Houseboat Arknoa is close-by breakfast shops on the Haarlemmerstraat/Dijk. (Barney's Coffee Cie, p.ex. opens at 8a.m.) The supermarket is 5 minutes away (open daily, Sundays included from 8am to 10pm); the houseboat is also close to the Monday and Saturday street-markets of the Jordaan.
Arknoa offers its guests a safe, peaceful and refreshing place to relax in. So welcome to your floating room on the waters and to a good night's sleep!
When 4 guests want to occupy both rooms (min. 2 nights), the price for 2 rooms is e155,- p.night, (e38.75 p.p.p.n.) excl. 5% tourist tax & key deposit of e100.-

Once your booking has been confirmed by Hostelworld, you will receive an email from Arknoa to you personally with a map for the directions. Please print this map and take it with you; (Or make a quick sketch from Station to houseboat as... Amsterdam IS confusing!...)

It is a short walk from the Railway Station of Amsterdam
to the houseboat (9 min.)
Exit the station on the northern side and turn left.
Follow the main road passing the busy ferries parked on your right/ Keep following the main road direction West,
(where the sun sets)/ passing the large bicycle stand on your right/ Cross over then to the left side of the main road when convenient / Pass bye the elegant and tall boat 'Prince of Orange' on your right/ ... Passing then next the 'Kamer van Koophandel' (Chamber of Commerce) on your left/ Still on the main road, continue to the coming old bridge on an angle on your right/ Here keep on the left side of the road/ follow the bend, (do not follow the road that crosses the old bridge) but look for a second modern bridge just behind it: 'the MOONbridge' (all lit up at night) (the only aluminum bridge in Europe) / and cross this modern bridge/ Having arrived on the other side, count then 4 street lamps and take the 6 steps down to the wooden jetty.
Arknoa is right at the end of this jetty opposite the railroad track and opposite SQUASH CITY.
On top of Moonbridge you can see the houseboat, the second houseboat to your left, (in the middle of the canal ) / With little lights in the window that faces the railroad track, ... This means the captain is awaiting you,
