About Arknoa Houseboat

Private houseboat ARKNOA at 9 min. walking distance from Central Station, offers 2 private rooms on the West, the sunny side, with waterfront view on broad and active canal:

1. The Elephant room, a large 3-person-private-studio-room:

with private entrance, 4 windows, fridge, Wifi (Router), T & coffee making possibilities, a radio, a narrow terrasse on the canal side where a rowing boat is parked for you to enjoy safely the feel of the water. There is 1 large double bed & 1 comfortable couch bed for 1, 2 or 3 guests.

The room face the afternoon sun, the canal and 8 grand beautiful trees

on the other side of the canal. It is comfortable, attractive, spacey, with books available in the room. Showers in Elephant room are taken after 10am in the morning as there is only one shared bathroom and wc on the boat! The Elephant room can be booked as a'Twin double' (2 p. in the XL- bed) or as a 'Three bed private', (for 3 persons).

Note: If you want 2 separate beds: book then as a 3 bed-private!

THE ELEPHANT ROOM is situated at the far end of the houseboat with shared bathroom/shower just down the hall next to the smaller Nest room (2p.) and the innkeeper's studio.

KEY DEPOSIT is e50.- p.p. for both rooms.

Deposit will be returned when rooms and bathroom/

cups and dishes/ are left tidy and clean behind and when garbage has been removed and key is returned...

2. The NEST room, a second very small room with a mezzanine double bed, for 1 or 2 persons , adjacent the 'Elephant room' and the bathroom.

It's too small to reside in over day but is a good address for a few nights in Amsterdam if you are planning to use the room only as resting place. Showers for this room are taken preferably later in the day.

The houseboat can thus accommodate all together a group

of 4 or 5 guests in these 2 adjacent rooms!

Linen, towels, soaps are provided and the rooms are smoker friendly!

Also Arknoa is close to the supermarket, the Jordaan district & the streetmarkets there on Saturdays and Mondays. Also close to the Westerpark and the farm there with veg.meals.

CHECK-IN is after 16oo. On fridays Innkeeper is away inbetween 18.30 and 22:3o. So best to arrive in between 16:oo & 18.30. Or later around 23:oo!CHECK-OUT is 11am.

ARKNOA offers its guests a safe, peaceful and refreshing place to relax in. So welcome to your floating room on the waters and to a good night's sleep!

(For e10.- you can park your bags at the houseboat for the afternoon, if convenient with innkeeper that day).

HOUSEBOAT ARKNOA is close-by breakfast shops on the Haarlemmerstraat/Dijk. (Barney's Coffee Cie, p.ex. opens at 8a.m.) The supermarket is 5 minutes away (open daily, Sundays included from 8am to 10pm); the houseboat is also close to the Monday and Saturday street-markets of the Jordaan.

Dogs are not directly accepted as there are 2 cats living on board.

Once your booking has been confirmed by Hostelworld, you will receive an email from Arknoa to you personally with a map for the directions. Please print this map and take it with you; (Or make a quick sketch from Station to houseboat as... Amsterdam IS confusing!...)

If you have to change your arrival time, please do so or per email (12 hours upfront) or per phone.

- Payable cash on arriving at the houseboat.
- When 2 adults wish 2 separate beds, please make request upfront.
- Minimum 3 nights
- Key deposit is e50. p.person (cash on arriving).
Deposit will be returned when room and bathroom are left tidy and no damage has occurred. Towels and soaps are available.

Check-in is after 16:00.
