I spent 4 nights at Jacob 22. Great location to the Wellesley subway station. Owner Emre was very nice. I would stay there again. Incredibly inexpensive. After walking Toronto, you'll be too tired to do anything but sleep. Quiet locale. My only complaint is the pillows suck. They should invest in some new ones. Jacob 22 is probably the best deal in a very expensive town. Book it without uncertainty!!

The B&B is located in a safe neighborhood, the blind alley ensures a quit location. You can reach all the sights and the metro station “Welleslley” within a walking distance.

Despite the quit location, the neighborhood – the gay village – offers a variety of bars to spend the evening.

The old Victorian house is equipped with interesting details and the rooms are tidy. The host offers a basic self-service breakfast. If you arrive by car – ask in advance for a parking permit.

Excellent value for the money! The only thing I really would complain about was that it wasn't possible to open the window and that the fan was too loud to leave it on during the night. Apart from this, I really enjoyed my stay. Emre, the owner, is a nice and reliable guy who takes care of his guests, but is also unobstrusive. The breakfast is not very varied, but nevertheless nice with fruit and fresh pastry. The house and the location are marvellous.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

This hostel was one of the cleanest and safest that I have ever been in. In a very nice part of town, and very close to shops, restaurants, bars. The street is full of life, but also very quiet. It was also close enough to walk to the major shopping districts, parks, and attractions. The kitchen, bathrooms, rooms, linens, living spaces were extremely clean and well kept. I was very impressed by Jacobs 22, and would definately stay there again and again.

Mostly had a great time there. The location can't be beat--it's a block and a half from Church and Wellesley, but it's on a lane facing a park and it's quieter than you can imagine for central Toronto. Price can't be beat, either. The place is pretty clean and well kept up, and the owner seems to be working on some renovations to make it even nicer.

The breakfast is very simple--cereals, milk, toast--and the staff is sometimes a little weird to work with and often hard to find. The owner is wonderful, though. I'd absolutely stay here again.

The owners make the place welcoming, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast generous, Monteith street is quiet and within walking distance of Yonge and Dundas subway stations, the neighborhood is lively, it's the best Toronto B&B I ever stayed in.
