New Camellia Youth Hostel is a project in partnership with Camellia Hotel but the management is entirely separate and is in the hands of "Best of the Best" (an independent scheme dedicated to promoting good hostelling in China). It aims to promote cultural exchange, conservation of the environment, social responsibility and travel under your own steam.

LeYi Youth Centre, which is based at Kunming Camellia Youth Hostel, is co-founded by Yunnan Grassroot NGOs-support Centre on March 11th, 2011. The centre is established as a platform for diversified communications and activities. By offering chances of volunteering, sharing information about NGOs, and resource of social learning for the public, it aims to encourage young people\'s participation in a variety of social services, in order to become a responsible local community, and benefit the young through such activities and development. Through cooperation with Youth Hostel, the centre also provides an opportunity for its participants to have a better understanding of the mission and philosophy of hosteling.
