In the heart of Budapest downtown we've created a calm, cozy and intimate atmosphere where after a tiring day of traveling or sightseeing you can relax and really feel at home. We've turned a beautifully renovated classic Budapest apartment into a small hostel so that you, the budget traveler, can enjoy quality accommodation at bargain price, and get a glimpse of Budapest as only locals know it.
Please NOTE that the hostel is small with a few private rooms and therefore it's NOT a place where you can meet lots of people and party. However, if you prefer privacy, personal attention, cleanliness and a relaxed atmosphere with a homely touch this place is idyllic for you! To top it all, the hostel is located within walking distance of most of the sights and is surrounded by amazing old buildings, so staying here you can not only see Budapest's history; you can live in it for a while.
We are less than five minutes walk away from the famous Vaci street, a fashionable all pedestrian shopping area, and the nightlife and entertainment quarter, packed with trendy pubs, clubs, cafes, fancy restaurants as well as cheap eateries. Only three minutes walk away from the blue, yellow and red metro line stops, night buses, and trams to the Buda side, we provide an ideal base for exploring Budapest's rich past as well as its vibrant multicultural present.
Our friendly staff will be happy to assist you with anything you need. We recommend the best places to go out and we can help you to plan the most efficient ways to do your sightseeing.
Please note: As we don't have a 24 hour reception, please NOTIFY us about your arrival time.

Of course you can leave your luggage in the hostel until you are ready to leave.
Early check-in is possible if your room is free earlier than 1pm - contact us by email.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
Someone keeps taking off boards and signs of top rated hostels in the downtown area. Unfortunately our boards get stolen and our doorbell tag sprayed over on a daily basis too. So don't be worried if you don't see a sign when you arrive, just ring our doorbell (or the doorbell that is sprayed over :) or has the name BARABÁS). The street number is 24, a brown gate recess right opposite Erste Bank. The hostel is on the 4th floor (there is an elevator). Our phone number is +36203943509. We will be there waiting for you! :)
From Airport Terminal 1 and 2:
Take bus #200 to Kõbánya Kispest station (terminal). Walk up the (ugly orange) passageway then down to the metro (on your left). Go ten stops and get off at Deák tér. Look for the exit sign (kijárat in Hungarian), it will be on your left. Take the escalators one level higher, then turn left and go one more level higher. Walk up the opposite right stairs when you get out of the metro area. You should find yourself on Deák tér (square), then walk about 3 minutes ahead till you reach Károly krt. # 24. The building is right opposite Erste Bank, and the hostel is on the 4th floor.

from Airport Terminal 1 take the train to Nyugati Railway Station. Follow the directions provided below.
Nyugati Railway Station:
Take the metro (blue line/M3) heading towards Kõbánya-Kispest station for two stops. Get off at Deák tér. Look for the exit sign (kijárat in Hungarian), it will be on your right. Take the escalators one level higher, then turn left and go one more level higher. Walk up the opposite right stairs when you get out of the metro area. You should find yourself on Deák tér (Deák square), then walk ahead about 3 minutes till you reach Károly krt. # 24. The building is right opposite Erste Bank, and the hostel is on the 4th floor.
Keleti Railway Station:
Take the metro (M2/red line) heading towards Déli Pu. station for two stops. Get off at Astoria. When you get out of the metro area walk up the opposite right stairs (there are two stairs on the opposite right, you have to take the one going right, not straight ahead). You should find yourself on Károly krt. Walk ahead about 2 minutes until you reach Karoly krt. #24. The building is right opposite Erste Bank, and the hostel is on the 4th floor.
