This is a very inexpensive option for Toronto, but offers good value. The rooms are exceptionally clean, there are multiple bathrooms with and without showers, so lineups are never a problem. The only complaint I had was that the downpipe for the upstairs toilet ran right in the room next to my bed, which woke me up until I got used to it.
The common areas are well equipped, the kitchen area has a comprehensive array of cooking dishes and a nice modern ceramic topped cooker. There are two refrigerators so lots of room for all to store their perishables. The TV room has a large flat screen, in addition, the private rooms also have older style but fully functional televisions. The private rooms are small, but well furnished and are well worth the additional $20/night over the dorm cost. The bed in my room was very comfortable, the door seals well so it is nice and dark for sleeping. Doors to the rooms are equipped with deadbolts for security.
It is a three minute walk to the nearest subway stop, and there is a small shopping complex with a grocery store right across the street. There are also many small restaurants and several chain fast food places within easy walk.
Staff are very friendly, but the housekeeper speaks very limited English so communication can be an issue. The owner/manager is very good to deal with, and has lots of knowledge of the city and is happy to answer questions.
This is one of the finest budget hostel/hotels I have stayed in, and should I return to Toronto I will be staying there again.

The place is newly renovated, quite nice and pleasant, very good common areas (kitchens and washrooms well equipped and clean). Free phone calls within Canada and decent WiFi connection. We also used the laundry services which were efficient, good and cheap. The manager was pleasant and available and allowed us to shorten the trip by 1 day without penalty.
The room itself was very small but otherwise a good experience. Would definitely come back.
Very cosy place, clean. Well maintained kitchen and bathrooms.
I stayed in a room downstairs, which was quite small, but for traveller good enoughand had a tv

good location! i strongly recommend
Clean, nice staff, very close to everything in downtown Toronto, if you have a car to park be prepared to spend about $20 a day on parking, sound proof is not that great you can hear others talking in their rooms, it is good for one night or two, if more than that you need a room where you don't hear your neighbors talking all night.
Very very clean, lovely kitchen, room good but an absolutely tiny window which could be a bit claustrophobic (what if there's a fire etc?) Excellent value though.
I like every thing the WiFi is free excellent kitchen, bath rooms were OK
the only thing was that the bed sheet were dirty but otherwise perfect

This "hotel" is best described as a grubby youth hostel for folks with a high tolerance for dirt and discomfort. The price is way too high for what you get. We arrived on a street that was out of a Fellini film -- my husband asked 'is this place $65 a night or an hour?!' Getting someone's attention at the door took 10 minutes and once inside we waited 45 minutes in the dark because the power was off. Lucky for us the manager took us to another location with power. Our tiny room was on the fourth floor, under the eaves. The bed was comfy enough but the bed spread was soiled and unusable and one of the shared bathroom doors did not close all the way. Could be nice with lots of paint, scrubbing, new fixtures and price restructuring!

This was more of a low-budget hotel than a hostel in my opinion and experience, therefore we had a very pleasant surprise when we checked in as far as the accommodation was concerned. It's not a place to meet people / fellow travellers though if that's what you are looking for. Adam was extremely friendly and efficient. I would definitely go back.
