Come and see why everyone loves staying at Pinedale. You choose between a private, self-contained 2 bedroom apartment or shared facilities in the lodge with the option of private double or twin rooms, dorms or family rooms. Also offering transport in the Pinedale van to Mt Hutt, the club fields in Arthurs pass, Christchurch airport/city or day trips when the mountains are closed (additional charges apply).
The apartment has 1 double and 1 single room, heat pump and double glazing, guaranteed hot water, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, TV, private garden, BBQ, mountain views, separate storage room. Laundry facilities available.
The lodge has a relaxed, friendly vibe, spacious living areas with sunken fire and surrounding "love-pit", pool table, video library, high speed internet and wireless, as well as a large, fully equipped kitchen, individually heated bedrooms with beds fully made, ski tuning equipment, laundry, drying and storage facilities so you will love it too!
Pinedale Lodge is only 10 minutes drive from the base of Mount Hutt Ski Area. If you don't have a car, book a seat in the Pinedale van to take you to Mt Hutt, or the Arthurs Pass Club fields.
Within walking distance of Pinedale are several legendary pubs and an art house movie theatre. The Visitor Centre is nearby as are supermarkets, a book shop, galleries, ski and snowboard shops and a gym. There are plenty of places to eat, including takeaways, pub meals, cafes and restaurants.
Nearby activities include skiing, hot air ballooning, jet boating, Lord of the Rings tours, tandem skydiving, hiking, golf, rafting, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and horse-riding.
Pinedale Lodge is an easy 1 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport along the travelling route between Christchurch, Mt Cook and Queenstown.

Directions
Pinedale Backpacker Lodge is conveniently located at 11 Alford Street right in Methven Mt Hutt village close to restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarket, shopping, service stations and i-SITE Visitor Information Centre.
From Christchurch follow the Main Highway (SH1) south from Christchurch towards Ashburton. At Rakaia, turn right at the Mobil petrol station, then follow the signs for Methven. From the main intersection in Methven (with the Brown Pub and the Blue Pub), head up Forest Drive towards the mountains. Alford Street is the second street on the right.
OR
Follow the West Coast Road (SH73) from Christchurch to Darfield and turn left along Inland Scenic Route 72. Then follow the signs for Methven. From the main intersection in Methven (with the Brown Pub and the Blue Pub), head up Forest Drive towards the mountains. Alford Street is the second street on the right.
From Queenstown/Wanaka - follow SH8 to Fairlie, turning left to Geraldine to follow the Inland Scenic Route (SH 72) until turning right towards Methven along Pudding Hill Road. When you first arrive in Methven, you will be driving along Forest Drive, Alford Street is the third on the left,
Airport transfers from Christchurch Airport to Methven, departing 4 times daily, transfers from Cathedral Square in Christchurch to Methven, departing 2 times daily, through Methven Travel or Newmans Coachlines.

We are 10 minutes drive to the base of Mt Hutt, 1 hour to Christchurch Airport, 3.5 hours to Dunedin, 4 hours to Wanaka, 5 hours to Queenstown.
