Budget Accommodation North America Canada Vancouver Hostels HI-Vancouver Central
I guess I should've paid more attention to the description of this hostel on here, as it came as a nasty surprise that the (tiny) kitchen didn't include a stove. Other than that this place was okay; good atmosphere, pretty decent breakfast (though most of the time you'll have to eat it standing).

Check us out...
Smack dab in the middle of Granville Street's pub-and-club party district, we're Vancouver's newest hostel -- and if you're angling for access to all the good times you could want, without compromising on security, comfort, and cleanliness, we're where you want to be!
Our hostel has awesome daily activities that'll have you hanging out with travellers from all over the world while you teeter across the Capilano Suspension Bridge or sip a pint on one of our pub crawls.
After a long day, you want a comfortable bed. Ever slept at a hostel where the mattress felt like a couple of plastic-wrapped, lumpy, old cushions? Well we have, and that's why we wouldn't settle for anything but the best, here. Our mattresses are first-rate -- thick and comfy. Oh, and all the linen is free. Towels are free, too!
Want to treat yourself? Book into one of our private rooms, all with cable TV and some with ensuite.
A quick word about our kitchen -- our previous guests have asked (and we listened!) that we mention ahead that our cooking facilities include only microwaves, toasters and kettles. If you're looking to cook up a feast, we've got two other hostels in Vancouver (Downtown and Jericho Beach) with really impressive kitchens.
So that's our story: fun, secure, comfortable, clean, and can we just put in one more plug for the Granville Street nightlife?
We can't wait to meet you!

Its location on Granville is useful - within easy walking distance of the Davie Street restaurants as well as the skytrain.

I will not recommend this hostel for one single reason but a very important one to my eyes...I slept in a 4 men dormbed and one of the roommates during the week I stayed there was a bum and he stank like hell...The reception did not seem very concerned by his smell and that it would bother (weak word) the others sleeping in the same room...it was unbearable...staff not particularly pleasant...good location...noisy street at night (drunk people yelling, etc...)

Stayed in a private room with en suite and TV. Basically it was like staying in a average quality hotel but for a lot less money. If I was being very picky I would stay the only problem was the room wasn't cleaned daily and it didn't have a bar.
But lets make no mistake, it's still the best hostile I've ever stayed in.
