The location of this place is excellent, couple blocks from the sky train and Canadian line that runs to richmond and the airport. It's right in the middle of downtown where all the action is. The staff is helpful and friendly, and there is a common room with a pool table and couches.
Now for the cons. The place is generally clean, but the bathroom can use a little scrubbing, and the table in the common room is sticky and grimy. If you get one of the rooms toward the street it will be quite noisy. The windows are thin and you will hear all the conversations of the drunkies on the streets. The rooms are also very small and it gets difficult to maneuver if there is one other person in the room.
Maybe it's not the worst place in the world, but I have been in many better hostels. It is dirty; our room smelled really bad. People was supposed to be quiet from 11pm, but I was awaken every night at 3-4am because people were partying in the corridors (I suppose it's the perfect place if you want to party though!).
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody!
