Maybe it's not the worst place in the world, but I have been in many better hostels. It is dirty; our room smelled really bad. People was supposed to be quiet from 11pm, but I was awaken every night at 3-4am because people were partying in the corridors (I suppose it's the perfect place if you want to party though!).
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody!

This is the best hostel in Vancouver but don't just take our word for it - this is what the guidebooks say:
''Many regard as Vancouver's best. The Samesun reflects its boisterous Granville St. location by offering a hopping backpacker bar.' Lonely Planet British Columbia guidebook 2007
'Ideal for lone backpackers or travelers looking to meet young, like minded people. Clean, fun and very, very central.' Time Out Vancouver guidebook 2007
'Samesun has followed up the success of other hostels across Canada with a zippy, bright hostel in Vancouver.' Rough Guide Vancouver guidebook 2007
'Excellent in all respects.' Moon British Columbia guidebook 2005
'SameSun is the newest and hippest hostel in town . Brightly painted and lively it strikes a nice balance between the near stodginess of HI facilities and the grunginess of some other Vancouver hostels,' Lonely Planet Canada guidebook 2004
