Welcome to The Art Farm Hostel, we are located in the higher southern part of the Ardeche, overlooking the Col de L'Escrinet offering an excellent opportunity to make a stop and enjoy the superb views of the breathtaking scenery with its mountains, lakes, grottos, waterfalls and a rich cultural heritage…if you're looking for that then you've come to the right place.

• The Art Farm is a magical place, a transitional community of artists, musician, designers, dancers, natural builders, eco-warriors, gardeners, permaculturists, poets, spiritual healers, soul seekers and creators of love, fun and happiness. It is set amongst the amazing landscapes of the Ardeche region with 250 year old Granite buildings being transformed using all natural building materials. Throughout the year we host many courses and workshops in natural building techniques, lime mortars, dry stone walling, cob construction, permaculture design and self sufficiency as well as dance, music and spirituality.

•Each day there is something fun, exciting and beautiful happening at The Art Farm, wheather it be a free form musical jam session on the lawn, a dinner party with interesting people from all over the world, endulging in the amazing fresh food picked straight from the garden, sharing a nice bottle of wine, laughing, dancing and singing or simply enjoying the sunshine, magnificent views and the great relaxation of the Ardeche as the eagles saw overhead.

•We also offer hostel accomodation consisting of separate male/female dormitories and use of the communal kitchen. The Art Farm Dormitory is equipped for backpackers during the Spring and Summer months. Shared dorms. No minimum or maximum stay.

• The Ardeche is a region that is most famous for its gorges. The impressive limestone canyon stretches out for over 30 kilometers and offers an altering view of steep rock walls covered on the top with green trees and disappearing at the bottom in the winding river with its rapids. The astonishing views, combined with an abundance of sportive activities, such as rock climbing, canoing, trekking, horseback riding and cycling make this area into a popular holiday spot.

• Well known for its many wines, cheeses, chestnuts and locally grown produce there are farmers markets in its medieval villages and towns most days and evenings, with many festivals throughout the year.
