Stay in the REAL EDO period's traditional house. Hida Gassho-en is a 'Gassho-Zukuri' houses with steep rafter roofs inn nestled in Hida Takayama. Gassho-Zukuri have been built since the Edo period but they are a rare sight nowadays. It was moved from Gokayama, Toyama prefecture where is the world heritage, a small village some Gasshou-style buildings exist. The snow-capped Gassho-Zukuri in winter is particularly beautiful.

There is a traditional stone garden which can be seen from the Japanese-style guest rooms.

The local dishes such as Hida beef are served upon request. There is an 'irori', a type of traditional sunken hearth, where the dinner is served.
