We are exactly in the center of the traditional atmosphere and traditional people from Oaxaca. Take this unique and wonderful experience and spend it with us. We are in the middle of the markets and folk craft, just two blocks away from the Zocalo Plaza and the Historic buildings of Oaxaca . Enjoy the cultural attractions such as the ruins which are located in Mitla and Monte Alban, galleries, museums, Arts & Crafts markets, traditional oaxaca's food, and the beautiful people living in this enviroment.
Hostal del Mercado* Youth Hostel in Oaxaca, is a new and comfortable hostel with only 36 beds in 6 large confortables rooms, 6 full bathrooms, beds equipped with orthopedic mattresses, secure lockers capable of storing large backpacks , ceiling fans. We offer a Full free breakfast (tropical fruit, cereals, sweet bread and toast, cakes, orange or apple juice, milk, coffee, tea, bagel, pan cakes, yougurt, butter, jam and egges, tradicionals tamales, chilaquiles, beeans etc.) included in the price of purchasing a bed, we have a different menu every day, is available from 12 to 24 pm opened kitchen for the guests. We have a dining area, two interior backyards for smoking, we have a beautiful balcony with a amazing view of the street showing the market and the people. We have recreational room where you can relax, we have a pool table, table games(chess, cards, domino etc.), wireless internet free, t.v. with cable included, and a guitar, comfortable resting chairs and sofas.
The Youth Hostel has a security room, we can stores their luggage or backpack after his check out, until his departure from oaxaca for a low price.
We would love to accommodate you on your stay or visit in Oaxaca. We have Spanish, English and Chinese speaking people.

From International Airport in Oaxaca;
There are only two types of transportation, Individually and collectively, I recommend its low cost by taking public transportation, it's usually a 7 passenger van. The walking distance is long, it's not advisable, from the airport to Hostal del Mercado it's a 5 miles.
The ticket of collective transportation is sold inside the airport, has a fixed rate cost of the center, and the cost per person is approximately $ 90.00 pesos, $8.00 USD. If you travel with four people or more we recommend to take the individual transportation, The time approximately from the airport to the hostel is 30 min . They drivers will know the location of the Hostel just by mentioning the name and address:

Among the streets of J.P. Garcia and 20 de November, at the Dow town of Oaxaca.
From the Bus Terminal UNO, ADO and OCC:
You can take a taxi on the platform of the terminal, it's a 24 hour service, the taxi has an approximate cost of $ 4 and $ 5 USD (which are really safe), or $40-$50 Mxn pesos, the cost is not per person, its for complete taxi, including luggage, depending on its bargain, the time approximately 10 minutes.
Walking:
You can walk through the quiet streets of Oaxaca if you wish, the distance between the bus terminal until to Hostal del Mercado is 1.5 miles or 2.5 Km.This will take about 40 minutes, I recommend the following streets:
Westward 300 meters. by Ninos Heroes Avenue until you reach av. Juarez,
South, 6 blocks 700 meters up on Juarez Street Constitution,
3 blocks to the west, 300 meters. About make up Macedonio Alcala,
take the south by the Tourist street 5 blocks 500 meters until the zocalo of Oaxaca
in the Zocalo take towards Market Street in Oaxaca on 20 DE Noviembre street until you reach the Aldama street,
30 meters from the corner of 20 de Noviembre, the number of the building is Aldama No. 307, it's in the opposite street of the Oaxca's market that's where the Hostal del Mercado is located.
From Highway Mexico - Oaxaca:
Enter by Avenue and International Road, on reaching the roundabout at the Teatro Alvaro Carrillo continue to address the information centro by Calzada Madero who becomes Av. Independence until the of J.P. Garcia street, turn right to find the Aldama street, turn left and get into the wax right at No. 303-307. Hostal del mercado.
