Introduction

A sumptuous nineteenth century palace, once the residence of a vizier, the Riyad

Shéhérazade is situated in the heart of the Medina of Fez. The architecture has a

wealth of details, luxurious yet serene, typical of the Andalusian/Arab style. The

presence of water and of the fountains combines with the scents of the garden, with

its imposing centuries-old palms, to create a relaxed, pleasurable atmosphere.

The Patio, Moorish Kiosk and panoramic terrace will take you back over the

centuries to the splendours of the era of a Thousand and One Nights.

A high point of Moroccan gastronomy, our restaurant is one of the best in this

Imperial City.

PATIO

A grand patio, open to the sky, embodies the ages-old traditional decoration that

is the essence of Morocco. The thousand year-old techniques of carved and painted

wood, multicoloured tiling (zelliges) and exquisitely carved plaster work, together

with light fittings made from wrought copper, all adding to the pleasures of

breakfast in the sun or of dining by candlelight. You will find here not only a lush

garden, rich with the intoxicating perfumes of jasmine and orange flowers, but also a

kiosk and a winter restaurant, in the purest Moorish style, alongside a swimming

pool bordered by palm trees.

The traditional salons, with their shimmering hand-embroidered fabrics will

illustrate the art of Fassi living.

This oasis of 'Mille et une nuit' becomes a source of light at nightfall, adding a touch of

magic to these surroundings.

A high point of Moroccan cuisine is offered to you by Riyad Shéhérazade - we boast

that ours is one of the best tables in Fez.

Our cuisine comprises a selection of dishes and house specialities in a truly refined

Moroccan style. Price :280 to 400 Dhs / 28 to 40 Euros

Couscous ( à la caille) and dried fruits ( a house speciality), surrounded by little

salads in the great tradition of Fassi cuisine.

The Patio has space for 300 people

An area recalling the Mille et Une nuit, for a romantic candlelit dinner, or a reception.

The Andalusian Kiosk

Set in the garden alongside the swimming pool, and surrounded by palms.

This magic space can welcome some 30 people.

Moroccan Salon has space for 30 people

With shimmering hand-embroidered fabrics, intricate plaster work and zelliges

decorating the walls, and with traditional pierced copper light fittings, the Salon

creates an atmosphere in which you may discover the art of oriental living.
