The hostel, a former Georgian mansion, overlooks the Abbey and provides great facilities and warm welcome. The Abbey is also the starting point for St. Cuthbert's Way cross-border walking route which finishes on Lindisfarne, Holy Island. Popular with cyclists and walkers as well as tourists.

By Bus:
Melrose is served by buses from Edinburgh, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle.
By Car:
Melrose is situated just off the A68 from Edinburgh and Newcastle. At the first sign to Melrose (from Edinburgh direction), turn right and then hostel is 2nd on the right.
On Foot:
In the village, take the lane at the Ship Inn through car park to the hostel.
