Very good 79%

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

We had a nice stay at Hostal El Cid. It's pretty easy to find and in a very good location, right in the thick of the action yet only a few minutes walk from Xativa metro station, which you travel to straight from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the wi-fi came in useful.

Everything fine, except that the building's vintage plumbing really stinks.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

We recently stayed at this hostel...there is 4 flights of stairs of walk up, with luggage is a real effort!! The showers were cold both morning and night even tho we read 24 hour hot showers!! The lady at the desk was very rude and not very clean with her instructions!! The hostel is local only a five minute walk to the centre!! The floors in the bathroom were dirty, we wore thongs!! It is a very noisy place to stay doors are always slamming all hours of the morning and when the people in the other room used their sink it would gurgle up through our sink!! Our accomodation was stuffed up and Noone seemed to care they gave us 8 euro off, pretty much next to nothing! I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone. Good luck. This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Excellent location in the historical centre of Valencia with easy walking distance to the sights. The beach is about a 25 bus ride away. Clean and tidy, slight improvements would be soap for the sink in the room and towels changed every day instead of every 3 days (although they did change ours when we asked). Wonderfully informative and friendly staff, provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. If you go in the middle of summer it is very hot as there isn't any air conditioning but fans are provided in the room which helps. Great for the price you pay. I would definitely recommend.
