About Transit Motel Ukonga

Transit Motel Ukonga is located few minutes drive from Dar Es Salaam International Airport. We provide clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation.

Our closeness to Airport makes us ideally for travellers on transit to/from Zanzibar island, Kilimanjaro or Arusha. Also for travellers arriving late in the night or departing very early in the morning.

We have double bedrooms each having the following facilities: -

Airconditioner,

Mosquito net,

Private toilet and shower,

Telephone, and

Television set. (DVD player is available on request}

Laundry services available upon request.

Our Bar servers variety of beverages (beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks), and is open till late hours.

Drinks are available to the residents at their rooms 24hrs.

Room service is FREE

Our Motel do not accept credit cards. We only accept cash in Tanzanian Shillings and US Dollars.

As others have said, the motel is very convenient for those arriving late or departing early from the airport but that is its only selling point

Nothing to do in or around the motel.

The restaurant serves extremely basic food and took over an hour ( for baked chicken and rice- no sauce)

On the plus side, the taxi sevice to Ubungo bus station in the morning was excellent. I was so early (0500) that the driver stayed with me until the bus arrived and then arranged a reasonable fare so I didn't get ripped off.
