This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Honestly, I had this place booked for our return visit to Santiago, since we planned two separate stays in Santiago. Therefore, I visited this place before our stay there. Soon after I canceled our booking. I am traveling with my boyfriend and we are both in our late 20's. Neither of us could bear to stay in this place. It was very loud and dirty. The room for $45 a night had a sink and toilet but no shower and no windows. It felt like a dirty loud dorm and we quickly changed our location back to our original hotel in Bellavista.

The location of this hostel is good, since it is near the large Plaza. The outdoor deck is great for viewing activities in the Plaza, like the world cup games. But otherwise, the place is a disappointment. Spend an extra $15 a night and stay in the Bellavista Hotel, B&B if you like quiet, cool, artsy hotel environment.

We were greeted with enthusiasm and Christian couldn´t have done more to be helpful, assisting with booking the next hostal and answering questions. The setting could not be better, right on the main square with two gorgeous balconies to watch the world pass underneath you. The staff organised a barbecue for the guests and invited their friends too so that we could get to know locals and listen to them playing traditional music in an impromptu concert! A wonderful start to our stay in Chile, highly recommened.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

We had a very good experience at the Plaza de Armas, the location is perfect, near bus and subway stations, restaurants, supermarket, and touristic attractions. The staff (Rodrigo and Cristiano) is also great! The room we took (5) was also very nice, spacious and near the kitchen and the bathroom. The cleaness needs to improve a bit, but the view from the Hostel and the location compensates everything else. I recommend it!
