The Orient Gate Hostel is a place in Petra, which is ideal for backpackers and visitors to Petra.
Actually our hostel is getting more and more popular because of our cozy atmosphere, and our super clean rooms. With balcones over the view of Petra mountains. Our staff can speak English and French very well. We also give free maps and information,
we make daily open buffet fresh tradtional home cooked meals as the (upside down, and Mansaf, Kabsa) for a real fair cheap backpackers prices.
Free transport to Petra site. We are located in the heart of down town and near the bus station. We are also only about five minutes walking distance from the entrance of Petra site.
We also arrange transport to amman, aqaba, wadi rum, even the bus driver will come to pick you up from the front of the hostel for no extra charge.
Tours arrangement also to wadi rum, little Petra, kings highway.
Something really nice that we orgnize daily free tour to the sunset point were you can see the most beautiful sunset in petra.
NOTE: as our place still newly opened we are offering 20%, discount using the Turkish bath, its so great after visiting Petra.
TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENT FROM THE AIRPORT TO PETRA FOR EXCELLENT DEALS, DOES NOT MATTER THE TIME YOU ARRIVE.
We look forward to having you here and will make your stay unforgettable.
Basic breakfast with bread, jam and butter was free. Not free transport from hostel to entrance Petra site. At least 20 minutes walking distance to entrance Petra site instead of 5 minutes as stated. The staff was shouting when late 1/2 hour for breakfast. The manager was not friendly, made me feel uncomfortable especially spoke right in front of me in Arabic to other people there, which I think was about me. There was not WIFI provided, the internet at Reception lobby was chargeble. The room ok, but the blanket with liquid mark was disgusting.

We booked the place for 9JD per person total of 18 JD. The site said this price includes a ride to Petra and breakfast. When we got to the hotel there were 2 teenagers who spoke good English but played the game "we don’t understand" when ever we asked about the ride to Petra. At the end they took from us an extra 1JD for a ride but only 1 direction! Furthermore we didn’t get any breakfast!
And they gave us a "tourist trap" feeling trying to sell us stuff every 5 min. I will never come back there NEVER AGAIN!
