Vanessa was a really helpful host who made us feel at home straight away. Although we had some troubles with our booking, she was really kind and patient when assisting us.
Location was superb. This was my second trip to Taiwan and I must say, Jv's location and facilities make me want to come back pick this place to stay in when I come back to Taipei again.
A side story, we went to countdown at Taipei 101 and because of the convenience of the location, we didn't had to worry about transportation back (it was a relatively ok walk) and could play to our hearts' content. Not to mention, the awesome supper /breakfast we had at the nearby nightmarket before heading back.
The only thing that bothers me a little is the steep stairs. But Vanessa was very helpful in helping us with the bags.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay thoroughly and would love to be back!

The manager was very nice and kind. She helped us a lot. very decent living at a cheap price!!!
This hostel is very neat and clean. However, the hostel dorm is very small. Each room has two double deck bed and 4 lockers, each for each guest. The space between the two bed is roughly 1.5x average person shoulder width, which makes packing/unpacking of bag very difficult and inconvenient. The location is not ideal as it is quite far from MRT station. Price is not very attractive compared to other hostel which has better location and space allocation.

About JV's Hostel
If you are international students, our hostel is an ideal location for you. For all the Chinese studying University in Taipei, some of them you can access by walk. For all of them, you can get there by directly bus or metro.
We're located next to Taipei 101 (the second tallest building in the world) and inside the biggest night market in Taipei (Tonghua night market).
There are famous bars and clubs nearby and it's a convenient to walk to the metro station and bus stop. Get ready to experience authentic Taiwanese culture!
