Through combined misunderstandings between Saj and myself, I didn't actually end up staying at his Homestay. However, although the fault for the misunderstanding was as much mine as his, Saj went out of his way to ensure that my stay in Fort Kochi was great.

I arrived to find that Saj was expecting me the following day and didn't have a spare room in his place. He quickly went out of his way to ensure that I was able to have a wonderful room in a homestay of a friend just a few doors along the road (Fort Shore Homestay). In fact, the room I was given was much larger than the one I would have had with Saj!

Saj was most concerned that I was comfortable and OK. When I said I was planning on getting a massage on the afternoon of the day I arrived, he booked the place for me (a proper Ayurvedic center and not just a "tourist" one) and personally drove me there so that I would arrive on time. He also arranged with the owner of the center to make sure I returned to the homestay OK.

Even though I was not staying at his place, Saj insisted that I come down for breakfast each morning - and I have to say that the reviews that say his is the best breakfast in Kerala are correct!

So, although I can't actually give a review of the rooms at Saj Homestay, I did ask Saj to show me a couple so that I could see the style and quality of them for future reference. And I can certainly give 100% for the care and attention Saj gave me to ensure that our dates-mix-up did not negatively impact my holiday in any way.

I would most definitely stay with Saj next time I'm in Fort Kochi.
