my friend and i stayed for one week for WGT and some days of relax after the festival making some sightseeing.
the hostal is opposite to the hauptbahnhof, or main train station, which has a really cool shoppingcenter with many places for eating and buying.
very close you have a lot of tram lines, which you can visit all the parts of the city. anyways, it's only 5 minutes walking from augustusplatz.... more

Welcome to Saxony's biggest city! You find our hotel and hostel vis-a-vis the pretty Leipzig Central Station in the historic post office building of the German Reich.
We completely refurbished the representative old building and furnished it up-to-date as it is standard for A&O. All rooms, whether single rooms or for several persons, have private shower and WC. A special attraction are the family rooms with two single beds and one bunk bed.
Round the clock you will get at our reception desk valuable tips and recommendations for Leipzig sightseeing. Whether on foot or by bike (you may rent a bicycle in the hotel), the main attractions are not far away. Guided tours and tickets may be comfortably booked at our reception desk.
In addition to, for instance, kicker and billiard we also offer other leisure activities. Take a drink at our bar and you may easily come into contact with other guests, find new friends or just relax.
Pets are welcome! In our single, double and family rooms pets are welcome. For just 5 per day you may bring your loved pet to our hotel.

- Ladies, in the event that you are an individual traveler and have booked a space in a multi- bed dorm we would like to inform you that we do offer 'Shared Women Dorms' if you would prefer.
- The hostel's multi- bed rooms require full payment in advance and there is a deposit when renting bed linen (3 ) and hand towels (1 ). In double and single rooms bed linen and hand towels are inclusive.
- In all A&O hotel's and hostel's pets are allowed at an extra 5 charge per night only in single and double bed rooms, please inquire beforehand.
- Conference rooms and technical appliances are available, please inquire beforehand.
CHECK IN 4 p.m.
Reserved rooms shall be available for occupancy from 4 p.m. on the agreed day of the client's arrival. The client shall not be entitled to occupy the room(s) earlier than this.
CHECK OUT 10 a.m. (11 a.m. at the weekend)
On the agreed day of departure the client must vacate the room by 10 a.m. at the latest. If the client does not vacate the room by this time we shall be entitled to charge 50% of the full room rate as published in the price list until 6 p.m. for reasons of non-contractual occupation, and if the client vacates the room after 6 p.m. 100% of the full room rate will be charged. This shall not constitute any contractual claims on the part of the client.
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS
Until the day of arrival until 6 o'clock pm (local time hotel/hostel) free of charge. There is a cancellation fee of 100 percent of the first night, should the client cancel the room(s) after the aforementioned cancellation period or in a case of non-arrival. It's the same for short-term bookings, within two days before arrival.
Any discounts or special offers booked through online booking engines are irreversible.
For groups from 10 people we have special cancellation and payment conditions. Our reservation department will contact you!!!

the hostal is opposite to the hauptbahnhof, or main train station, which has a really cool shoppingcenter with many places for eating and buying.
very close you have a lot of tram lines, which you can visit all the parts of the city. anyways, it's only 5 minutes walking from augustusplatz.
the hostal is really cool and the staff working there are wonderful and friendly multilingual people, and they try to help you with any problem or question you can have.
you have to carry your own sheets, or you have to pay 3 euros if you want they provide them you.
you have your own bathroom in all the bedrooms, and they clean everydays around 11am.
it's a no-smoking hostal, but they have a nice terrace for smoking and having a beer (they have a bar working 24 hours)i'll come back, with no doubt, next year to this hostal for my next WGT (wave gotik treffen).

Directions via Public Transport:
You leave the Central Station via the Eastern exit and you'll see our hotel at the left side over the road.
Directions when arriving by car
When coming from north on autobahn A14 (from Magdeburg / Halle):
Take exit 23 (Leipzig-Mitte) and proceed on Maximilianallee direction Leipzig-Mitte. Follow the course of the road up to Rackwitzer Strasse. Turn left into the road 'Am Gothischen Bad' and then turn immediately right into the road Brandenburger Strasse. After 500m turn right into Brandenburger Strasse and after another 100 m turn again right into Brandenburger Strasse. After 400m you'll see our hotel on the left side.
When coming from north on autobahn A9 (from Berlin):
Switch at Schkeuditzer Kreuz (exit 15) to autobahn A14 direction Leipzig or Dresden and follow the directions when coming from Magdeburg / Halle.
When coming from South on autobahn A9/A38 (from Nuremberg):
Leave the autobahn A9 at the junction Kreuz Rippachtal and switch to autobahn A38 direction L'tzen/B87. Proceed on autobahn A38 and take exit 31 (Leipzig/Markkleeberg). Proceed on federal highway B2 direction Leipzig via the road Wundstrasse. Follow the course of the road up to Harkortstrasse. At the end of this road turn right into Martin-Luther-Ring. Follow the course of the road up to Georgiring and then drive straight into Brandenburger Strasse. You will see our hotel after 100m on the right side.
When coming from East on autobahn A14 (from Dresden):
Take exit 26 (Leipzig-Ost) and turn right into Permoserstrasse direction Leipzig. Follow the course of the road (moving into the road Adenauerallee) for 7.2 km (follow the federal highway B6). Then turn left into Brandenburger Strasse (proceed on B6). After 800 m turn right into Brandenburger Strasse and after another 100 metres turn again right into Brandenburger Strasse. After 400 metres you'll see our hotel on the left side.
