Overall, i had an excellent stay there. About the facilities, I felt the bathroom and toilet need to be separated as we may want to use toilet only when someone is using the bathroom. And may be it is more comfortable, energy saving and environmentally friendly if the bedroom lighting bulbs are fluorescent.
But the services, cleanliness, and attitude to receive the guests are what European hostels should learn from.
The people here are probably the nicest people I have ever met. They were more helpful than you could ever imagine. The place itself was very nice. Only a 2 minute walk from the bus stop. Very accessible. If you stay in Kyoto you should stay here. If you haven't got your trip planned, they will tell you all the great things to do and show you how to get there. I can not emphasize enough just how nice and helpful these people are. Excellent.
