An extensive renovation and refurbishment by new owners was completed in late January 2012, improving the rooms, the bar and the restaurant. The hotel has nine rooms available including doubles, twin singles and dormitories. Ensuite bathrooms are available with some private rooms. The hotel is traditional and old-school with views overlooking an adjacent park the city skyline. All rooms provide fans, and windows that can opened.Basic kitchen facilities provided for those who would like to cook own meals. Although the hotel is situated on a quiet residential street, it is only ten minutes walk from the city centre and Central Station, Australia's largest railway station. We are even closer to China Town and Darling Harbour, and an easy walking distance to Sydney's cosmopolitan inner city-suburbs Darlinghurst, Surry Hills and Newtown; famous for nightlife, and cafes and restaurants. Sydney locals tend not go to the city CBD, where most of the hostels are - unless it's to work or shop. Once you have seen the major attractions our staff can give you local advice that isn't in the guide books. The pub has been operating since it was built in 1881 and is much loved and for its timeless charm by locals and visitors alike. The Lord Wolseley is one of the last real Australian pubs there are very few remaining, especially in Sydney. There needed to be more of a "welcome" note in the room telling people who stayed in the rooms about the facilities.
