Cardiff is the perfect place to spend a weekend and with so much to see and do why waste money on accommodation?
Cardiff Backpacker Caerdydd is the original independent hostel and is moving away from "flash packing" and bringing you back to basics. With safe and secure dormitories accessed by modern swipe card entry systems you can feel happy in the knowledge that you and your belongings are secure at all times.
With just 42 beds we are is small enough to feel cosy and friendly whilst large enough to accommodate like minded people from all over the world and from all walks of life bringing backpackers back together! All of the staff have been backpacking themselves and would love to share their experiences with you and hear all about yours, whilst being able to offer local knowledge and suggest the coolest places to go!
We totally understand how travelling on a budget can sometimes be a little difficult that's why we've stripped away all the non essentials, we of course have hot showers 24/7, no curfew, and free linen, we've also got a bar on site that can undercut every pub in town! We have a fully equipped self catering kitchen so you can easily cook yourself a meal without breaking the bank or if you fancy dining out, we offer a 10% discount off food and drinks at our nearby sister hostel NosDa.
"A stalwart of the Cardiff scene, a dream and a strong favourite with independent travelers"

By Train and Bus:
The nearest station for bus and train services is Cardiff Central. From the stations walk left over the bridge crossing the River Taff, then take an immediate right following the river embankment upstream, turn left at NosDa (hotel), and we're just beyond the playground ahead of you.
By Car
From the M4 take junction 32, then follow signs to Cardiff City Centre along a busy dual carriageway (A470) for approx. 2 miles. On approaching the centre follow the road around the Castle to your right, then straight ahead through two sets of traffic light, over a bridge, then take a left at next traffic lights into Lower Cathedral Road; we're on the mini roundabout ahead of you. There is ample street parking and limited secure parking.
By Air
Cardiff International Airport is situated about 40 minutes' drive from the City Centre and services inbound scheduled flights from Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Amsterdam (see Links for more details). From the Airport you will have to take a Taxi or Bus X91 to the city centre.
By Irish Sea
On your way to or from Ireland by boat? We are an excellent stopping off point for you to visit Wales. All ports are serviced by rail. There are four crossings between Wales and Ireland:
