About YMCA Hostel BB

Hostel YMCA is situated in the city centre of Banska Bystrica, in that beautiful central Slovakian region full of historical spots and views. Take a new breath by walking in amazing woods and pick up mushrooms there or steel blueberries to bears. Enjoy skiing in nearby skiing slopes in wintertime and then ... jump into the close hot spas. There are few of them that you can choose from. And if you are not a sporty type, doesn´t matter. Have a fun in the city pubs, shopping centers, museums or galleries.

Whatever you need our YMCA staff and volunteers will do their best to fulfill it. We offer you friendly atmosphere and help from our staff, good quality accommodation with kitchen, conference site and restaurant catering, all with great prices.

Banska Bystrica is a vibrant young university city with 80.000 inhabitants. At the same time city will take your breath by just walking around and you will fully enjoy the historical sites dated back to the 1255 when the city was established.

Reception and check-in is open from 9 am to 8 pm. Check in outside of reception hours is possible after agreement with receptionist. A standard fee of 10 Eur is payable per check in.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR YOU:
1.Hostel YMCA is a shelter for everybody who looks for peaceful accommodation and a place for getting new inspirations from new places. Our hostel is a place that you share with other guests. Therefore we would like to ask you to:
-Respect other backpackers because they give their respect back to you,
-Mainly within the rooms because there could be guests sleeping and who leave the place early in the morning.
-Please keep the night silence during 22:00 - 06:00.
-Keep your things in the rooms as outside the rooms as you would like to find them next time when you want to rest a bit. Our common time under one roof will be pleasant and rewarding for all of us. We would also like you to ask not to move any kind of furniture as the beds too.
-Please do not eat or drink in the rooms but use kitchen.
-There is a strict prohibition of abuse of alcohol, using drugs or another dazing additives in the Hostel YMCA building. At the same time if the guest is apparently after use of these additives hostel staff has the right to check out this guest without refunding previously payed money.
-Building, where the hostel is located, was built few hundred years ago. We are the „busiest“ group using the house since the last few months ☺. Hostel facilities are not the newest ones but we do our best to make the atmosphere comfortable and cosy that you feel like at home. It is a continuous process so we would like to kindly ask you to tolerate this fact. Despite of it in case of any caused damages, especially those that were caused by not respecting the rules that you were informed about before, you commit to pay 100 % value of damage by signing the hostel rules during the check in. Please write down any damages that you register within the building in the special „Book of blemishes“ that is located in the kitchen or in the common hall and at the same time inform us. Do not do any repairs on your own.
-Besides basic hostel services you could use washing machine (3 Eur) or borrow a towel (2 Eur) .... just ask us. Free WIFI and hostel computer in the common area.
-If you need anything, if you do not feel good or you have anything to ask us do not hesitate and we will do our best to help you.
2.Please leave the rooms till 10:00. Before leaving we would like to ask you to put the sheets off. Do not to forget to return the key. If you leave early in the morning or late in the night leave the key at the place arranged with hostel staff.
Reception of Hostel YMCA is opened daily, from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:00. Please discuss any other arrival time beforehand with the hostel staff by phone or email listed on the web page: www.hostel.ymca.sk.
3.Accommodation and other fees:
•30 % accommodation deposit is payed at least 4 weeks beforehand by sending the adequate amount on account of the Hostel BB.
•Other deposits depend of the way of booking the accommodation (Hostelworld, ...)
•Rest of the amount is payed by registration directly during the check in in cash or by credit emboss card.
