As a camping site, this place is great...especially if you have a vehicle. It is close to Piazella de Michelangelo which gives a great view of the entire Florence city and the town is just 20-25 mins walk down the hill (althought i didnt walk).

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
As a camping site, this place is great...especially if you have a vehicle. It is close to Piazella de Michelangelo which gives a great view of the entire Florence city and the town is just 20-25 mins walk down the hill (althought i didnt walk). The WC & bathrooms are busy and i went in early in the morning, so it was not bad. There is also an ATM & a small cafe there.
But for me, there were few big negatives for this place, firstly i was asked to surrender my identity card to be stored in their office (which is a small hiut). This was not mentioned in the site nor was informed to me when I was booking. If it was mentioned, i would have taken relevant ID that they accept for them to store and my stay would have been peaceful.
Secondly, we were struck my the frequent bus strikes that happen in Florence. And to much of my anger, the staff at the camping did not kept a notice or even inform me when i was checking out. I waited for about 45mins to realise that there was no bus!! and then took a cab from there to the station - and there additional price for everything - taxi call out, number of passengers, number of baggages... bit wierd!!
Overall, i would rate the service as bad and definetly there were rooms of improvement - like friendlier staff, information required to be passed on before for any requirement to stay PLUS some info about day-to-day service from the camping site - if there is any change - probably have a notice board.
I would still recommend the place to other people.. but would add a note about such bad service - and aler them to be informative about how a good place can be bad as well!
We had a great time at this place after meeting some crazy Kiwis and taking Firenze by storm! We stayed in the permanent tent things which are really good although be careful because although they are lockable, you can easily just lift the door off the hinges! Great views over florence from the bar which is a great place to meet other travellers. Security guy can get a bit touchy if you are too noisy but it's fair enough as it is a family campsite. The supermarket underneath the bar is well stocked and cheap and you can buy alcoholic drinks and take them upstairs if you so desire! I think if you want to stay in Florence, stay here!
