Apartamentos Ebano, Ibiza, Spain

A victim of its' own success. We had stayed here in 2011 and thought it was great so booked again, sadly our recent visit didn't live up to our previous experience. So what went wrong?

- booked way in advance, c. 6 months, and upon arrival were told they were over subscribed and made us go to another apartment round the corner. they arranged a taxi and paid for it but the place we stayed at was small, had a poor air-con (well in the 'lounge' not the bedroom), a tiny balcony and no pool
- we went to check out the next day and were told we would have to stay another night as apparently the lock to our room was broken. Thus we spent 2 of our 5 nights in a crappy apartment we hadn't booked, with no apologies or compensation

Upon finally arriving we were perfectly happy with the room; much bigger, large balcony overlooking the pool and good air con! Furthermore;
- great pool area, with more than enough sun loungers, sun and shade
- big pool
- really good value restaurant
- bar next to, sort of, the pool

BUT:
- whilst previously we thought the maid service was excellent, with rooms cleaned daily, it wasn't as good. Maids still saw to the rooms daily, but with the briefest of efforts, simply replacing the bins and towels. I guess this isn't bad for a self catering apartment but there certainly wan't any cleaning that went on
- furthermore they love banging out the hard house, round the pool, in the afternoon which is just random. For a good few hours each day its like listening to Eddie Halliwell. I know its Ibiza but if i want this I'll go to Bora Bora!!

In summary, the apartments themselves are good and in a good location, but we were messed around. Would i stay here again? Unlikely. But in fairness I'd stay in Talamanca next time anyway - perhaps I'm getting old!!!
