I had a private room so felt I had the best of both worlds...great company in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and privacy when I needed it. Really liked the people running it and fantastic location especially if you surf. It was a leisurely walk into the`pinchos` part of town and the atmosphere generally in San Sebastian with the film festival going on,was great! My kind of travellers and had an awesome time.

If you are looking for a relaxed hostel where you can kick your feet up and truly enjoy San Sebastian, this is the place for you. Ideally located on Zurriola Beach, the sounds and smells of the sea can be enjoyed from the 3 balconies overlooking the beach. Once you have worked up an appetite, the city center and old town is a short 5 minute walk from the hostel. Here you will find Spain's best tapas, or ´pintxos´ as they are called here. San Sebatian is also known as the city with the most bars per capita in Europe. Exploring the vast numbers of bars, pubs, and clubs here is part of the experience with the staff ready to help you find what you're looking for.
We have a small intimate hostel that feels more like a friend's house than a building full of strangers. There is a common room to meet fellow travelers, 3 spacious bathrooms with hot water all day, and a big kitchen where you are welcome to cook for yourself or any new friends that you have made. Cleanliness is important to us, so you can always expect fresh sheets, clean bathrooms, and a clean kitchen.
VERY IMPORTANT!!! THE ADDRESS IS 22BIS 2-D, NOT 22. WE RECEIVE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FROM THE NEIGHBORS, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 22 BIS BEFORE RINGING THE BELL.
NORMAL RECEPTION HOURS ARE FROM 9-22h, SO IF YOU WILL BE ARRIVING EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THESE TIMES, YOU MUST SEND US AN EMAIL.
CHECK OUT IS AT 11 AM
SURF LESSONS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE HOSTEL
ALSO, IF YOUR ARRIVAL TIME CHANGES, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

Ocean View was great. We stayed for 4 nights, and the location right across the street from Zurriola beach was priceless. Coffee, tea, juice and breakfast munchies are complimentary, and plenty of tapas bars, restaurants, markets and stores for anything else you might need are within a few blocks walk. The hostel is clean and quiet, and the staff is very friendly, helpful and familiar with the area. They even let us check out a few hours late due to an unforeseen misadventure in a neighboring province (long story), they were genuinely concerned about our safety more than money. Muchas gracias, Sebastian and Gabriela. Highly, highly recommended.

Go there!!! The best hostel ever! Clean, friendly and SO much fun! Perfect for backpackers, if in a group or alone. The beach is across the street and the party area 10 minutes to walk. If I went back to San Sebastian I would definitely go there again!

From bus station:
You can walk 10 minutes towards the sea following the river down and when you arrive to the last bridge and see the open sea turn right. In less than 100 meters you will find us.
You can take an urban bus (numbers 26, 21, 28) from main bus station and stop in the boulevard next to Zurriola bridge, cross it and in less than 100 meters you will find us.
There are also taxis in the bus station but they are the most expensive way (5 EURO) to move in San Sebastian and you can avoid them.
From BILBAO airport:
There is a direct bus connecting Bilbao airport and San Sebastians bus station for 15 EURO from 5 a.m to midnight every hour (it takes 1h 10 min) . Once you are there you can follow the first explanations.
From SAN SEBASTIAN airport:
There is a bus from the airport each time a plane arrives (it takes 20 min). It will leave you in the main bus station.
From train station:
It is even nearer from us and close to the river, so just walk following the river down to the sea and when you arrive to Zurriola bridge turn right and walk 100 meters.
