Taipei Green Hostel is excellently located right at the heart of Taipei City. We are 3 minutes away to Taipower Building MRT (subway in Taipei) station, and 3 minute walk to the famous Shida nightmarket, Shida University (NTNU, National Taiwan Normal University), as well as a multitude of food stands, restaurants, bars, lounges and entertainment.
Taipei Green Hostel is also close to NTU (National Taiwan University) , and the famous Gongguan nightmarket within 10 minutes walk, and 1 MRT stop ride to Gongguan MRT station.
Taipei Green Hostel has 5 rooms with 4 private double bed rooms with Ensuite bathroom, 1 private single bed room with Ensuite bathroom, a0nd 1 private single bed with shared bathroom. Actually, the only single bed room Ensuite provides bunk bed and can sleep two persons but the size of room is not big.
Check-in to room: 4pm-10pm
Check out of room: by 12pm midday

We checked in earlier than we were suppose to. The staff was very understanding, he allowed us to put our bags, shower etc even before the room was ready (with no additional charges). The hostel is about 5 mins walk from the Metro Station. However the sign of the Hostel is not very prominent so you might just miss the hostel! The room that we took was without toilet. It's quite big but there was an additional sofa bed which makes it look a little cramp. The design of the room and the hostel itself was very creative.
The location is very near Shida Night Market (about 10mins walk). Shida Night Market has restaurant/pubs & pizzahut, Mosburger etc nearby. It is a good shopping place for youth.

nice place - I was the only person there in early November.
a little difficult to find, but I phoned them and someone came and met me at the MRT station. Friendly guys. Clean. Couldn't work out why I had a bunk bed in a single room though - made sitting up in bed a little difficult.
Would probably stay there again. A decent place to stay for a couple of nights. Night market and good western food nearby

this hostel at first,but after check in it was very convienient to go shoping and eating.Recomend go to SHI DA night market,just near from hostel.

A hostel with washing machine, dryer, kitchen. It is not like a budget hotel, seriously it is a hostel. There are 4 rooms and 1 room was without attached bathroom which happened to be the one which we stayed in. We had to use the bathroom outside. The lights take a few seconds to switch on and will blink once in awhile. Basically it is a well equipped hostel. Get out from exit 4/5 and if possible get the more detailed map from Rich to make sure you don't lose your way. Rich is friendly and nice and easy to communicate.

I'm an American who used to live in Taipei for a year, so I know my way around the city. I just recently came back for a week for business and to see friends, and I decided to stay at Taipei Green Hostel to save money. I've stayed at two other hostels in the past, and I can tell you without hesitation that Taipei Green is the best by far. The location is perfect for students and foreigners -- it's right next to the subway, both major universities (NTU and NTNU), and one of the coolest areas to hang out and walk around (Shida Night Market). The hostel is super clean, quite, and very secure. After a couple of days, it felt like home. The owner is also really friendly and speaks pretty good English. It's a small hostel, so be sure to book your room in advance.

I'm very happy with this place. Clean, nice room. Located in quiet corner of a very accessible area being close to a MRT station. On top of that it is also conveniently located 5-10 mins walk from great street food outlets and restaurants of Shida. If i visit Taipei again, i would be glad to come back to stay again. Richard is a very wonderful host, i appreciate all his hospitality. Visitor from Singapore
