Budget Accommodation Africa Morocco Marrakech Bed & Breakfasts Dar Najat
One word: "FANTASTIC" describes everything about this Marrakech guesthouse (riad). There was a pre-arranged mini-van waiting for us at the station on our arrival to take us right to the front door, located right in the hussle and bustle of the mysterious medina. Everyone at the riad was very friendly and the service from everyone was outstanding during our 4 night stay.
The atmosphere is fabulous. It's a very intimate feeling, Moroccan boutique hotel. The decor is a mix of Moroccan and ethnic African. Beautifyl tiles and columns around the whole place. Our room was a good size with beautiful artwork and a big, comfy bed. En-suite washroom and shower was more than adequate and also beautifullydecorated.
Breakfasts & dinners were delicious and always served with a smile by the friendly staff. We even met the owner and his lovely wife who sat and talked with us a while. What a genuinely lovely couple!
I can see now why Riad Dar Najat's slogan is, "The Coolest Riad in Marrakech"! This place really is great! The price is very reasonable given the layout and service offered too. If you're going to Marrakech and looking for a mid-priced riad that's got charm, beauty and want to be treated like you are one of the family: Stay here! You won't be disappointed!
We stayed at this riad through a personal recommendation. But even that did not do it justice! When we arrived, the taxi sent by the riad was still waiting for us at the ariport, despite a flight delay of nearly 2 hours. A meal had been prepared for us, just in case! We were made welcome and very comfortable throughout our stay by the charming owner Olivier - who speak French and English - and their delightful staff. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was huge with fresh orange juice, the best natural yogurt, coffee, tea, Moroccan pancakes, toast and a large basket of fresh fruit. Nothing was too much trouble. When my wife confessed she liked brioches they were given to us the very next day.
Our room was the size of a hotel suite but half the price! It was clean, fresh and airy with a very comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and hot shower. We appreciated the extra touches, fresh flowers, supply of fluffy towels, wrapped Argan soap. The safe in our room and the security of the riad gave us peace of mind as we had brought cash for our stay, aware that credit cards charge a high percentage.
Dar najat is calm and beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing there, which was just as much of a treat for us as visiting the wonderfully busy Djemma-el-Fna. Olivier will take you to the Square or to the souks, and arrange and book anything you want and make suggestions for visits, trips and restaurants The riad was very friendly and social. We enjoyed meeting guests from all over, some of whom - having the good fortune to stay longer than we could - arranged trips to restaurants and excursions together with other guests they had met at the riad!
This place is a real find. It offers more than you expect - we know a bargain when we find one! We came away refreshed and happy from our short stay. We were completely spoilt here and we will certainly be back.
My wife and I have lived in Morocco for 4 years and we are accustomed to the lower than average service for the price here. However, the level of service performed even by the owners (offered to carry our bags to our room) was impressive. We felt very well taken care of. We have stayed all over Morocco and I have never written a review before this, but I feel like people need to know about this jewel of a place.
However, you will have to walk about 8 minutes to this riad from the place JAMA EL FNAA but the walk is well worth it. The riad itself is beautiful. It is one of the best riads in marrakech as far as i m concerned. It is often full so you will need to make a reservation in advance.
Liked — The friendly service and the beautiful and unique feel of Dar najat
We had a great stay at DAR NAJAT. We intended to stay for 2 nights, but ended up staying 4 and taking a short trips to essaouira and ourika . Olivier and his team are welcoming and incredibly helpful, not to mention fun to talk with. The house itself is beautiful, with every detail taken care of. The pictures don't even do it justice. The terrace is an amazing place to eat breakfast or to watch the sunset . The riad is also in a very good location; it is in the medina but easily accessible and easy to find. I highly recommend staying here!
My family and I (including children ) have just spent a fabulous week at Dar najat. This is a stunningly beautiful riad with a lovely roof top terrace with a nice jaccuzi . The owner Olivier and staff Essam Saaid Hamin and Sakina were extreemely friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. My children were made to feel particularly at home. The breakfasts were delicious and afternoon mint tea and Moroccan cookies a treat. The staff were very helpful in organizing trips. Our stay at this riad was one of the highlights of our trip.
