Hotel Hinodeya, a Ryokan Hotel in Kanazawa, is located just one minute walk from JR Kanazawa Station, and it is the best place to stay while you are visiting Kanazawa enabling the hotel guests to explore the whole city easily and even make a trip to Noto peninsula conveniently.

great location, very close to the station.. the room was quite big and clean.. but no wireless access in the room, there is LAN cable for internet connection in the room though, and a public computer free to use in the lobby..

This was the least expensive place I booked for my Japan trip, so I wasn't expecting much. What I got was one of the larger rooms I've had here, internet service (I wasn't expecting) that was faster than at any other hotel I'd been to, and a staff that was very friendly. The lady of the place and her daughter both speak English well, and helped me find a laundromat (coin laundry over here).
The location can't be beat. Just exit the station through the famous gate and it is straight ahead about 100m on your right. If you read kana, you can spot it from the station. If you don't read kana, you will have to get closer to see the English sign. It is also close to 2 post offices. The one at the station probably has the most extensive offerings and has international ATMs.
The only drawbacks I saw were:
1) the room had a bit of a tobacco smoke smell. Almost everyone in Japan seems to be a chain smoker, so this was not completely unexpected.2) there were no vending machines or ice machines. On the other hand, there is a Sunkus convenience store across the street.

Execlent location,100 meters from the rail & bus station. Friendly staff although very little to no english, but you can get by. While room is basic, it provides all that you would require for clean confortable and affordable stay. I would stay at this hotel again.
