About Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the western end of Kangaroo Island, between the Kelly Hill Caves Conservation Park and the Flinders Chase National Park. It is ideally located to offer you the opportunity to enjoy the world famous and unique natural environment of Kangaroo Island.

The backpacker lodge is at the eastern end of the famous Koala Walk. You will have native animals up to your front door.

The facilities include 4 private lockable bedrooms, large fully equipped kitchen. Large open plan living area with DVD playback, wood burning pot belly stove and dining area.

Shared bathroom.

Outdoor BBQ area with eating area and native animal viewing.

Parking spaces for four cars.

We offer guided educational nocturnal walks, and self guided Koala spotting.

The local attractions are Flinders Chase National Park, Café, Remarkable rocks, Admirals Arch, Hanson Bay Beach, Walking trails, fishing, and native animals.

Local knowledge is available.

Basic food and drink provisions are available for purchase.
