The twin and single rooms are VERY small.
I was somewhat surprised to find that the guys who look after the place objected when we had 1 friend over for dinner one evening.

About Elevated Leisure Backpackers Chalet
Located in the heart of Argentiere town right opposite the scenic Mt.Blanc railway station, this is the most convenient base for exploring everything the Chamonix valley has to offer. We bring budget chalet accommodation to an exclusive resort and are dedicated to giving you the most comfortable, affordable and flexible holiday in a beautiful setting. Unique in the valley of Chamonix, we have integrated hostel-style ambience and guesthouse hospitality within a traditional alpine setting.
This is a medium-sized chalet sleeping 11 people in total - plenty of space to relax without losing the charm of staying in an alpine chalet. There is a fully equipped kitchen and large dining area which opens out onto a spacious balcony. After a hard day trekking, sweat it out in the sauna. You can also connect to our unlimited WiFi during your stay, read a book or sit back and watch a DVD, and those of you with an eclectic taste in music are welcome to connect your iPods to the soundsystem.

We have direct links with the best local mountain guides and activity providers. We can arrange everything from beginner rock-climbing lessons to a full-day descent of the Dora Baltea rapids, not to mention the paragliding, mountain biking, horse riding and glacier treks!

There is a €5 charge per head for linen and towels
There is a damage and key deposit of €20 euro collected on arrival which is returned in full assuming no deductions are necessary.
During the ski season, CANCELLATIONS must be made 24 hours before midnight of your arrival date. Otherwise (and in the case of no-shows) the full balance of your booking will be charged, regardless of cancellation insurance.

I was somewhat surprised to find that the guys who look after the place objected when we had 1 friend over for dinner one evening. Even more bemusing as the guys themselves had guests in the evening during that time. Massive double standard and left a sour taste in my mouth, as you can tell.
On balance it was fine, but I will look for somewhere else next time I am in the valley.

What a brilliant place to stay.

It was a great place to stay! The house was very clean, very comfortable, and Oliver was very friendly and helpful.
It wasn't very straight forward finding it the first time, so I recommend checking in when there is still day light. Once you know where it is, then it's easy.

The Chalet has a wonderful views, our room was a little small for two, but the house is well located. The attention is perfect. The bathroom is downstairs, that is a litte uncomofortable.
I will recommend this place.
La Source Chalet was a fantastic place to stay! It is in a great location with fantastic views over the valley towards Mont Blanc. An excellent place to see the sun and moon rise over the mountains! It was great to be able to get breakfast if you wanted and the 'honesty' bar system was good. Oliver made our stay very comfortable and he gave lots of great information about the local area. It is a small chalet and you will get to know your fellow visitors. Highly recommended!

This place is in a fantastic location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains..the views could not be topped. It's about 10 minute walk to town, but this makes the location even better as it is very peaceful and tranquil. Great access to hikes
The rooms were very small, and the matress that I had dipped severly in the middle. The kitchen is tiny but due to the fact few others cooked it was sufficient. The toilet and bathroom are also very small.
The living area is a nice space with windows opeing onto a small verandah where you can eat your meals or have a quiet wine or beer.

This chalet has only 3 rooms so there's a really friendy atmosphere in the evening where you can chat to the others staying there. It is about 10 minutes walk from town but has a fantastic view of the mountains from the lounge (and a sofa to sit and watch them from). Oliver who looks after the place knows the area really well and is happy to answer/help with any queries. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time at Chalet La Source. Great atmosphere in the chalet with big windows and balcony view over the town and Mont Blanc - spectacular! Communal area has lounges, bar fridge, stereo and a big table for meals. Great for a book, a beer or a party! Oliver is a natural host. He made everything easy for us - cooked some great food and has all the tips for Chamonix.
Simple but comfortable rooms upstairs - everything is clean and well maintained. Good little kitchen if you want to cook. Brilliant value for money!! I would thoroughly recommend La Source and hope to get back myself.
