As the hostel had just opened when we stayed, bathrooms were not very clean, and we had to wait til 10 pm to had a bed. However, the staff is nice and everything is new.

DC Lofty is located on 1333 11th street North West in Washington DC, only 5 minutes walking distance from Convention Center Metro and a bus stops right outside.
Other easy to reach attractions around us are The White House, Convention Center, China Town, U.S.Capitol, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution with 19 museums (like Museum of Natural History, and Air & Space Museum- one of the most visited museums in the World) and 9 research centers, and Supreme Court.
FREE unlimited wireless high-speed Internet access in all rooms on your laptop, other than that, there are a few brand new computers that have internet access in common area.
FREE luggage storage from 9am to 6pm
Our hours of operation that you can find staff on duty are from 10AM until 10PM
You can't come in before 9a.m. (and you have to let us know if you plan to come in before 10AM), if you are arriving after 10 p.m. you MUST contact us and notify your arrival time. Charge $20 for the arrivals after 10PM Latest Arrival by 11PM.
TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL PRICE. THEY WILL BE ADDED UPON ARRIVAL(14.5%)

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. (earliest 10AM; latest 10PM)
Checkout time is 11:00 a.m.
Mature, quiet guests are preferred.
We do everything we can do to preserve a tranquil atmosphere in our hostel. If you would like to bring a child with you, please contact us. Children under 18 must be in rooms accompanied by a parent.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children under six or seniors sixty five and over.
Smoking is NOT allowed in the room or in the common areas.
Evidence of smoking in the room or common areas will result in an additional charge of $250 will be billed to cover the additional cleaning for smoking in the room and loss of revenue. Any kind of open flames, including lit cigarettes or burning candles, are not allowed in the room.
No (extreme) physical intimate behavior allowed;
No extensive drinking allowed.
No pets are allowed.
Cancellation and Payment Policy -
DC Lofty maintains a strict cancellation policy.
You must notify us at least 3 days prior to departure time (once you have checked in). Any days within 3 days will be subjected to a 50% cancellation fee. Any cancellation of the day of Check-in will be charged the full nights stay. Please be courteous and inform us immediately of a cancellation or change in plans.
Upon arrival, full payment will be accepted in cash (USD)/travelers checks or credit cards VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER. We do not accept personal checks.
Group reservations (5 guests and more) will be charged 15% deposit 2 weeks in advance

I. Be clean! Keep the house clean!
II. Respect the other guests
* Keep the noise level down after quiet hours and contain it to common rooms.
* There is no smoking in the building; you can do so just in the back yard.
* Please throw your trash out.
* Guests are allowed to visit, but please ask them to stay in the common areas until 9PM.
* No illegal drugs and please consume alcohol in moderation. There is no alcohol after 10pm on weeknights and midnight on weekends.
* No pets are allowed.
* We cannot accommodate children under six or seniors fifty five and over.
III. Reservations, Extensions, Cancellations
TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL PRICE. THEY WILL BE ADDED UPON ARRIVAL (14.5%)
Remember that your stay is only guaranteed for as long as you have a reservation paid for. Afterward it is important, that if you decide to extend your stay, you must plan ahead and make an extended reservation, while we still have room available for you. If you decide, on the other hand, to check out early, you are entitled to a full refund for your unused/overbooked days. If you decide to check out early, you MUST inform us. You must notify us 3 days in advance to receive a full 100% refund, any days that falls within those 3 days we will be able to return 50% of your paid fees. Please remember that you must give us a 5 day advance notice for large group reservations. Less THAN 24 hr notice will be charged 100% for the FIRST night. If you have not checked in yet, you can cancel your reservation 24 HOURS BEFORE check-in to not be charged for the first night - does not apply for groups

Directions from Convention Center - walk LEFT (west) on M street NW towards increasing numbers for cross-streets. Take a right turn on 11th st NW (after 2 blocks), and you will see DC LOFTY - Convention Center - on your right side. NOTICE AS IT IS THERE IS NO SIGN INSTALLED YET
Directions From Different Places:
CHINATOWN BUS STATION (about 15 minutes)
Take the China Town metro station Green/Yellow line towards Convention Center metro (1 metro stop). As you get out, follow the walking directions.
DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
At Curb 2E, take the 5A bus towards L'Efant Plaza Metro. At L'Efant Plaza, take the GREEN line metro to Convention Center metro station in the direction of GREENBELT. As you exit the metro, follow the walking directions.
REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT (about 30 minutes)
Take the YELLOW LINE Metro towards FORT TOTTEN to Convention Center metro station. As you exit the metro, follow the walking directions.
AMTRAK / UNION SQUARE (about 15 minutes)
Take the red line metro from UNION station to CHINA TOWN metro; transfer over to Green/Yellow metro in the direction of Convention Center. As you exit, follow the walking directions.
GREYOUND STATION (about 25 minutes)
Walk south towards the UNION STATION on 1st NE for 2-3 blocks to the Union Station metro entrance. Take the red line metro from UNION station to CHINA TOWN metro; transfer over to Green/Yellow metro in the direction of Convention Center. As you exit, follow the walking directions.
BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (about 1 hour)
Take the B30 bus towards GREENBELT station, and then take the GREEN line metro to Convention Center station in the direction of BRANCH AVENUE. As you exit, follow the walking directions.
