It is a place that reminds you of the tranquility of the forgotten good old days. You could never find any appropriate words to describe its beauty. The loveliness as if condensed into the pictures taken a few hundred years ago, of which you could see the mountain pure and fresh after rain, egrets flying across the sky or huts hidden in the forest or the sunset scenery.

Heshun is not a city with lots of tourist spots and "must go attractions". And Lao Shay Youth hostel embodies the serene and calm village in its ordinary courtyard and lane. You could enjoy the time flowing peacefully with the sweetness of the field, the fragrance of the flowers and the tranquil under the moonlight.

Directions

　　The airport and train right now are under construction so you could only reach Heshun by highway. There are scheduled buses from Kunming, Lijiang, Baoshan, Liuku, Ruili, Mangshi(Luxi).
　　Main road: Xiaguan- Baoshan-Tengchong (320km; and 180km is highway) The total journey takes about 6-7 hours. As from Baoshan to Tengchong (around 130km), it takes around 3-4 hours as the road from Nujiang River Gorge to Gaoligong Mountain is not good enough.
　　There are 2 airports near Tengchong, they are Baoshan airport and Mongshi(Luxi) airport and also there are flights from Kunming. (Baishan airport – Tengchong is about 130 km while Mongshi(Luxi)- Tengchong is about 150km)
　　Tengchong Terminal – Heshun Gate: you could take taxi and it is about RMB15 (please note that the taxi drive will charge you for RMB 20 in the early morning and at midnight but they will bring you to the old town directly.) If it is day time, you could save the money by taking No 2 bus at the Terminal and get off at the traffic light near the government building at town centre. Then you change to the Mini Van to Heshun. (Tengchong-Heshun, RMB 2/ head)
　　After you reach the Heshun Gate, you walk pass the "Shuanghong Bridge" and you would see "Heshun Library". Please turn left into a stone slab road and walk for about 180m, then you will see Laoshay Youth Hostel next to 2 banyan trees.　
　　The admission ticket of Heshun old town is RMB 50/ head. ( including a package of several tourist spots) If you do not plan to go to those spots, you could be exempted to buy the tickets. When you are checked by the officer, you could tell them that you stay at Lao Shay Youth Hostel. If they still insist and do not let you in, please call us at 0875-5158398 and we will pick you up from the gate.　After 6:00 pm, you are not required to buy the admission tickets and if you drive over, you could also head into our courtyard. (Please note that your car have to be parked at the car park at the Gate in day time.)
