Our holiday house is situated in the very famous archaeological site Aquileia, half an hour from Trieste. For over 750 years it was a very important Roman city and is very conveniently located to visit the Friuli region, as well as for stop-overs on your way to/from Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

It is only 10km from Trieste Airport, with easy bus and train connections to Trieste, Udine and Venice.

We mostly have family rooms with private adjoining bathroom, triples and quads doubles and some dorm beds.

The sandy beaches of Grado are only 9 km away, and if you are into mosaics in Aquileia you can admire the oldest ones of the Christian era, as well as lots of Roman ruins and some museums.

Directions

The nearest railway station is 5km away in Cervignano, on the Venice-Trieste line. Outside the station there are connecting buses to Grado. Get off in Aquileia and watch out for the sign on your right - the hostel is 2 minutes away.

If you're flying to Trieste Airport, take the bus just outside the airport (times are posted in the arrival hall). Coming from Austria, catch a bus to Grado from Udine.

By car take the motorway exit for Palmanova, turn right and follow the signs. We are about 15km away.
NOTE: we can pick you up for just the price of the petrol to save you taxi costs..please email in advance or phone on arrival pick ups from airport or Cervignano railway station only).
June through September speed boats go from Grado to Piran, Rovigno and Brioni in Croatia, info at the hostel.
