About Reykjavik Backpackers
The Reykjavik Backpackers is a hostel and a travel hub located on the main street in Reykjavik city center! The hostel‘s unbeatable location and vibrant atmosphere make it the perfect stop for travelers when visiting the capital of Iceland. It‘s a lively place offering not solely a warm bed to rest in but all the necessities for the traveler! Our services include a tourist information center with wide local knowledge of tours and activities, a bar & a café to sit down and relax, an internet hotspot, a car and bike rental, a camping equipment rental, laundry services and much more. Our aim is to offer our customers the best value for money, budget accommodation supported by an outstanding customer service!
Facilities
The Reykjavik Backpackers has twenty rooms with 92 beds on three floors. There are sixteen dorms for 4-8 persons and four private rooms for 2 persons. Toilets and warm showers are accessible 24 hours a day, located in the center of each floor allowing guests to access the facilities easily. The building has common areas with TVs and sofas for relaxing, reading a book or meeting new people. Kitchen facilities are available on the 4th floor for guests reserving beds in the dorm deluxe dormitory or in the private rooms.
Reykjavik Backpackers’ bounty of common area makes the place a perfect one to meet fellow travelers to join on your Iceland adventure. We also advice you to take local advice and head out for an outdoor adventure as Reykjavik has a lot of great activities at its doorstep, eg. hiking, glacier hiking, ice climbing, river rafting, canoeing, sea kayaking, caving and even snorkeling!

FUll of advice etc. Room I was in fronted onto the street which was a bit noisy friday and saturday nights/sunday morning, so beware of that if its important to you.

Great location, and very helpful and friendly staff. Takk (Thanks, in Islenska). Right on party street, so unless you want absolute quiet at night, it's a steal of a deal. Would do it all over again.
