Shame about the extremely rude American they have working on the reception. Everything else about the hostel was great but he entirely ruined our stay with his bad attitude and extremely poor customer service, telling us that at the price we paid we didn't deserve to get good customer service.

About Kiwi Basecamp

Earthquake update 13/06/2011:

Just like in the last stronger shakes and aftershocks, the hostel did not suffer any damage at all. Currently we do have a green sticker which certifies that there are no concerns regarding occupancy of the building and we are 100% up and running. Nevertheless, we will have our building checked by another engineer as soon as possible. Everybody in the hostel is accounted and in good spirits, considering the circumstances.

We are looking forward to welcoming our new guests.
