La Dolce Vita Rooms

We ended up getting a room that wasn't what we booked but as it was cheaper, it didn't bother us at all. It was a self contained apartment and suited us extremely well.

We ended up getting a room that wasn't what we booked but as it was cheaper, it didn't bother us at all. It was a self contained apartment and suited us extremely well. Great location! Only thing was it was a little noisey being so close to the square where teh children play but other than that excellent. Very friendly professional service too!

The 2 rooms..a kitchen..then across the hall a bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable..but be warned up about 150 steps. The greeting left a lot to be desired..no one spoke English and did not want to even participate in any type of sign language, however, another man appeared after we had been shown our rooms and returned to the office and carried one of our bags up the stairs, which was nice, but his attitude was very rude! There was no explanation of whether there would be any service..new towels arrived on morning 4 of a 5 night stay. A simple written welcome and explanation in English would have been appreciated. My email contact had been very pleasant, but unfortunately she was not present on arrival. No mention was made of payment or where the key was to be left...we paid on the 2nd morning and left the key in the door. Impression...they don't want us English speakers there....but the village and area are gorgeous!

Great value for money. Ideal for 2 nights if wanting to do the treks in Cinque Terre. Owner did not seem to speak English very well so this could prove difficult if there were any issues. This is accomodation that seems to be rented out in the off season and in the high season, used as a room for short terms so it is not a Hotel (although I don't think there are many hotels in Cinque Terre). Our room was self contained so great for living on a budget. Quiet location, close to all facilities and is easy to find.

This place was OK. The proprietor was very nice and helpful.

The room was fairly clean, the stairs were very steep and hard to navigate with luggage and a pregnant wife!

Cons: Noisy. We stayed in the room on the 2nd floor and could hear very clearly the conversations and footsteps of the people staying upstairs. Normally this would not be a problem but they came in at 2:00 am every morning intoxicated and being very loud.

The air conditioning did not work and it was quite warm in the room, especially since you needed to keep the windows closed due to street noise.

Overall, the place wasn't bad, I think most of my 'Cons' were due to bad luck.

room was as expected, clean tidy had a fridge but as with a lot of rooms in italy no teas/coffee facitilites, right 0n centre of town so easy to get around, breakfast was quick, easy and inexpensive at little cafe 10 meters from bottom of room stairs, very helpful staff hint if you are driving to Rio maggorie and parking is unavailable as it was for us (but it was easter) you are able to take car to hotel and drop off luggage and then park the car right up the top in the park and bus area parking is free there and it was one euro fifty to get the bus each, not sure if this service is on offer all the time or just on special occassions, lovely spot, great food it was ashame the sun didn't shine more for us but you carn,t control the weather.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was lovely, big and clean with a great little balcony over the marina. The owners were very friendly, helpful and relaxed. They even let us borrow their towels to take to the beach and stored our luggage while we were out for the whole day! I would highly recommend La Dolce Vita rooms. There is even a lovely little restaurant just outside the main doors (think it was called La Lila), so you do not have to travel very far for great food! Highly recommended!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The place was comfortable, big and clean. The location was perfect and the stairs not as bad as I had read. I could not figure out how to use the stove but I also did not ask for help as I was only there a couple of nights and it was not necessary. Although I did not have a lot of contact with staff/owners, the two men I did have contact with were friendly. Riomaggiore is a great little town with a lovely marina area and a good location to stay for exploration of the Cinque Terre area. I would definitely stay here again. This place was a bargain value; not a three star hotel but definitely a clean, friendly, convenient place for a good price.
