My partner and I spent a couple of nights here and it was a fine, basic hotel. In terms of location, it is easy to get to from the airport via the metro and is situated in the heart of Monasteraki.
The hotel and room were immaculately clean with basic furnishings. As we visited the day after mass civil unrest and public strikes, we were informed upon arrival that the double ensuite room we booked was given to stranded travellers and we were demoted to a tiny twin room on the top floor. Didn't mind so much as the lady at reception was very pleasant and had empathy for the strikers. In terms of value, it's reasonable for the area however, we were a little disappointed with the room we were given - I'd previously read a great review on the Guardian for this hotel however our experience didn't match up.
One thing that soured our visit was an encounter with the gentleman owner upon leaving. We didn't have to vacate our room until 12pm noon but despite this, we were screamed at by the cleaning lady and had our door pounded on from 11.30pm. We left the room at 12.15pm and then enjoyed a torrent of verbal abuse from the gentleman owner when we tried to settle the bill. We were fifteen minutes late. His response was disproportionate and unacceptable.
We won't be staying there again, but that's mostly due to poor customer service, there's nothing too bad about the hotel and the lady who works there is lovely.
Very basic hostel-style accommodation but very clean and a great location. It was also very quiet! The staff were uniformly helpful and nice. I'd definitely stay there again!

I enjoyed my stay at the Tempi. First impressions were very favourable with a lovely welcome from the lady behind the counter. All staff on duty seemed very nice people and helped with enquiries I had (e.g. where is the local post office? By the way it's 3-4 min walk away). 3 min walk to Monastiraki Metro station and in prime position for the Acropolis, Agora, flea market etc. I found the Tempi to be very clean, but I was slightly disappointed that no hot water was easily accessible unless you used the bathroom. (Bear in mind I DID have a single room with shared bathroom - had a basin but just with a cold tap). But overall I was happy with the Tempi. Efcharisto.
Good location - Acropolis can be seen from just outside the door and hotel is within easy walking distance to many sites. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean and bathrooms have plenty of hot water. Wifi worked fine in our room but other people had no connection in their rooms. Kitchen is basic but was fine for our stay. Tea and coffee facilities provided free, though no breakfast; supermarket and restaurants/cafes etc close by. Book exchange was a nice touch too! Great value for Athens- the cheapest hotel we could find and would stay again.
Simple, clean and comfortable. Right in the centre near Monastiraki. However the wifi did not work in our room, we had to go to the communal kitchen area to use it.
