The Bay View Inn is on the small island of Gulangyu,a haven of peace and quiet known as the 'Garden on the Sea'.It is just off the coast of Xiamen (formerly known as Amoy), a city in the sub-tropical south east of China.

RSSOne of my happiest hotel stays in China. I spent 6 days here over the New Year period of 2009. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there's a real family atmosphere.
I started in one of the upstairs rooms with a balcony - very pleasant if you can afford it, and even equipped with an efficient mini radiator (more useful than the balcony in January!).
For the last day I moved to a reasonably priced and much simpler room downstairs - quite adequate and good value for money.
I only looked at the dorms, but they seemed fine.
Highly recommended.
